Hello Fellow Swordsman,

Dumb question, but it is annoying me. Im at 0-2-3-2 in Swordsman, and I am confused on exactly what each special does. I have some Rifle skills and I pluck a MOB with a Mind shot and that bleed starts. The creature charges and i whip out my trusty Power hammer. Now which special does mind bleeds with this hammer? I can intimidate/warcry/COB, but if I had more bleeds i woud rule. please help, and if anybody knows a great website that breaksdown each special, that would be awesome.

Thanks....

the bleed that you have is in the 0/0/0/1 box. Its called 2hdmindhit1 (not HEADHIT).

"So I swoop upon the foe, and I will slay,
I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust;
Like Baal in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell,
And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew."

You only get 1 icon for all bleeds. To see that it worked, watch you combat spam closely. Each special has it's own message text. So you should see "You use screaming squill on dwarf nuna for 4528 damage" (or whatever the message text is for that attack) when you hit. If they dodge, counterattack, or block the bleed, it still worked (maybe a bug, but it's been that way forever). In those cases, it will still show the damage. It only didn't work if you says you missed.

If the creature is bleeding, a symbol will appear, but more than one bleed does not result in more than one icon. So you could bleed twice with rifle, twice with sword, and have some buddies throw some bleeds on, and he will still only have the one icon (even for bleeding different stats).

Wow, I wish there was a better systems for it...But maybe it will make more sense as i am playing and looking for it. I have noticed that when I put a rifle bleed on a creature, the amount of damage appears above the creature in blue text. Would I be able to tell if my rifle and melee bleeds are both on by the frequency of the damage showing up?

Well the bleeds work in this manor; a first strike is made using the bleed-attack, ignoring any resists (as far as I know, but I might be wrong) and a number will appear in your 'Combat'-log. This number of X is determined by the damage of your weapon and how high you happened to roll that time. The same bleed can't be stacked but you can however stack Mindhit 1 and Mindhit 2. (As mentioned previously). If you use the same bleed-attack several times the highest hit so far will be the one counting on all 'tick's'. I hope this helped a little to clear things out. Meep, off to bed!

The damage in the combat window is always the damage done by the by the weapon times the damage modifier of the special and isunadjusted forarmor and resistences. The number floating above the target (the "floaty damage") is the combat window number adjusted for armor and resistences and is the actual damage that comes out of the target's HAM. This number may be higher or lower than the combat window depending on how the Armor Piercing value and damage type of the weaponcompare to the Armor Rating and Resistences of the target. The floaty damage value is also the total damage done to all pools, but the color represents the pool that gets hit the hardest.

In the case of bleeds, as mentioned in a previous post, armor and resistences are ignored. So the damage in the combat window should always match the floaty damage when it comes to bleeds.

It does not matter whether you are applying the bleed with a range or melee weapon. The mechanics are the same. You will see the floaty damage you apply the bleed, and each time the bleed hits. However, as with all bleeds, the initial damage in the floaty number/combat window are not taken out on the initial strike. This damage is simply recorded as the bleed value and is deducted when the first bleed hits 20 seconds later and every 20 seconds thereafter while the bleed is still in effect.

Also, ignore the color of the floaty value for the initial hit for bleeds. I have noticed that whether I use rifle or sword bleeds (both hit the mind pool) the number may not be blue. Afterwards, when the damage is actually taken with the bleed, the number will be blue like it is supposed to be for mind bleeds, but for the initial hit, only the value matters; ignore the color.
