well if you see in the movies the people with the hammers and all. have you ever seen them hit with that thing. i never had. the hero always dodges/ moves out of the way. and well any way i never see a diffrence with the -30 mods on ph's unless i'm facing people with insainly highs melee defence.

I basically agree with what Dark says:

Everyadvantage (damage) comes with a tradeoff and accuracy being one of the tradeoffs in this case makes sense to me.

Yet, you might still want to check out the following thread, especially what's mentioned for pikemen. It's an older thread and some of the info is probably outdated, eventhough i was surprised while re-reading it how much of it still seems to be in line with what the upcoming revamps will bring.I actually think the weapon revamp might also bring improvement to those modifiers. We shall see....

well the way i see it - fighting certain creatures - other more accurate classes land their hits all the time thereby killing much faster than we do with the powerhammer.

it seem like kind of a waste when you can miss 3 times in a row.

im a master brawler master heavy swords so i have the best accuracy NONmods you can get.

it's not that the powerhammer is worthless - in pve you have the time to miss a few times - but in PVP its a huge problem in todays world of melee defense stacking and riflemen with uber dodges.

-30 mean our accuracy is around 100 - most players have well overt that in pvp - especially brawlers - with the mitigation it makes the hammer almost worthless in a sense.

you can't rely on it and its our best weapon.

yah i know you can use cleavers and curves and i do - i just dont get why this huge accuracy negative is there.

maybe if the low end damage were higher i could see it - but as it is you can kill faster with a curved in pve on regular mobs.

the powerhammer is basically a bleeding tool.

how the heck does one get a 14? I have scoured my server for something better than a -32, and failed miserably.

"So I swoop upon the foe, and I will slay,
I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust;
Like Baal in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell,
And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew."

We had a dolovite iron with SR of 1000 on Kauri some month ago, it helps. Then the weaponsmith have to make a very good experimentation, about 80% in dommage, and 20% in range modifier.

Most weaponsmith put 100% of their experimention points in dommage, not trying to think or test to have the best overall weapon...

For exemple I also have an other powerhammer with -20 mod, and 706 max dommage (slice and powerup of course).

i still dont think it should receive a point blank accuracy negative.

It is already hard enough to hit a ranged user who is running without having added accuracy mods hurting us. its a freakin sword....at point blank u should hit every time at master.

At point blank range i can hit a small nail with a hammer thats 1/20 the size of a power hammer. How hard is it to use that monstrous maul to hit a humanoid who is standing next to you.....or a freaking rancor for that matter. As for them dodging......thats why you aim at the waste with a horizontal sweep lol

Yeah, I dont think you should have a negative modifier at such a close range (and even TH thinks so, according to that Link). Point blank should be at least 0 modifier, then any minus modifiers for anything outside, eg 5m+, at least then its understandable.

At point blank it should be your skill vs the opponents ability to block / dodge / counter etc, ability to hit should be significantly increased as you would never be a Master Swordsman if you could never hit anything!

I agree with gorecki's/dark's statement about the damage to accuracy/speed/defense tradeoff, making the -30 range mods on the ph make sense. However, I cannot justify the range mods on the LVA, pikeman's best weapon, which are -55/-55/-55. It is a much inferior weapon to the ph: the best player-made stats are roughly 110-370 @ 4.4 with HAM costs that are equivalent to the ph, but it is only kinetic damage (both are AP2). So, while I can see the reasoning for the power hammer to have such accuracy mods, the LVA makes no sense to me. Even the Vibro Lance, a 90-290 @ 3.5 AP1 electricty weapon has -32/-32/-32 mods.
