i have a two handed axe with it's +11 mods, and it has -4 as the hit mod on the thing i am attacking. with my powerhammer it is at -42 (or something like that) as the hit mod and my hammer has -28 range mods.

it might factor in the targets defense.........but i don't know.

i know with VKs which also have a +11 like 2 handed axes they usually have a 0 or +4.

By the way, ranged mods are not set but can be experimented on. For example, I have made long vibro axes with ranged mods anywhere from -40 to -55. I don't think this really answers your question, but I wanted to point it out. =-)

you have to factor in your accuracy rating, the weapon, the to hit on your opponent, and the situation (running/range).i'm not sure what the formula is exactly, but all this goes into the number i believe.

well like i said i moved from point black all the way back to max and the number didn't change at all - leading me to two conclusions:

the numbers on 2 hand curves are wrong

or

each mob changes the accuracy somehow.

I wouldn't put too much importance on those hit chance numbers (the ones by the target's HAM readout). I seem to recall one of the splash loading screens saying those numbers take into account only a few basic factors, so it's nowhere near telling the whole story.

There are a lot of things that go into chance to hit. Your weapon's accuracy at a particular range is only one of them.Your accuracy mod, your weapon's accuracy mods, your posture, your target's posture, whether you or the target are moving, etc. So that number would never likely be exactly the number of the weapon's ideal range (or what ever range you are standing at). And I do not believe thatall of the chance to hit factors would even be reflected in that number anyway.

For instance, if you take a rifle, move out to its ideal range, stand and aim against a standing target, you will not necesarily see the accuracy of the weapon's ideal range. If you go prone, the number will go up. If the target goes prone, the number will go down. If you or the target are moving, the numbers change. So the number changes depending on a lot of factors.

So do not expect to see a weapon's range related accuracy modifier as your accuracy on that number. There are too many other factors involved. However, for a given set of circumstances (both of you at the same postures, you are using the same weapon, etc.), that number should be consistent.
