I recently switched my template from Swordsman Doc to a defense stacker template.
In regards to Defense Vs' stats I have noticed I seem to get the same status effects applied to me even with the following:
My template at the moment is.
Master Swords
Master Brawler
TKA 4004
Fencer 0440
Medic 2040
Enhanced FS melee speed
Enhanced FS melee accuracy
Combat Equilibrium+10
Counterattack+100
Defense Acuity+71
Defense Acuity+71
Defense vs Blind+50
Defense vs Dizzy+60
Defense vs Dizzy+60
Defense vs Intimidate+40
Defense vs Knockdown+75
Defense vs Knockdown+75
Defense vs Posture Change+60
Defense vs Stun+50
Defense vs Stun+50
Melee Defense+120
Melee Mitigation+5
Ranged Defense+90
Two-handed Melee Toughness+48
Ranged Defense+90
Two-handed Melee Toughness+48
Stun is probably higher as I have some bio clothes.
Do you find you are still stunned and blinded, dizzy etc with high defense V's when fighting against...lets say Nightsisters? If not, what should I be trying to get my Defense V's stats to to make it worth while having them?
Iam kind of regreting dropping Doc now, as these defense v's stats dont seem to work very well as far as I can see. Do they work better in PVP?
Thanks.

In my experience those defense modifiers really start working when you hit the 100mark.
I have personally modified my build that I have stun, knockdown and posture-change defenses way above 100 and I must say that except for giant/ancient krayts I am very fine. Those krayt s seem to put those states and knockdowns on you no matter how much defense you stack. From Jedi testing i know that Jedi area-stating from force powers is dependant on the resists the first target you attack has. It might be that a similar effect comes from the krayts as those might have used area-stating and kd on the other tank beside me, but i haven't really tested it yet. So far they just seem to have that high modifiers that it doesn't take too long until they get at least some states on you and kd will stick every now and then, too.
Dizzy is not a problem if they simply can't put you to the ground, blind does lower your defense and to-hit a little, but I haven't feeled any negative impact from it yet as I have stacked my accuracy, too. High-end mobs tend to have incredibly high "to-hit" chances and your melee-defense doesn't do anything there so the lowered defense from blind doesn't hurt either.
Stun is a different chapter since it lowers your own damage and you take considerably more damage as well. That is the reason why I have put effort into getting it well above 100.
Why not having dizzy def very high and in exchange live with lower posture / kd def?
It is just my own experience, but even when not dizzied a posture-change / kd does add quite some damage. Even with very high dizzy defense dizzy sticks every now and then, whereas (except for krayts again) I rarely ever get a kd and even if the kd sticks I'm up again pretty fast (auto-recover does a lot and even if you do not auto-recover don't panic and spam stands as that brings you to the ground again in no time, while smart /standing has you up pretty fast...)
Again just my 0.02€

My template is master brawler master swords 0040 fencer 0040 pistol 2240 medic I have a 767 max hammer a belt with + 23 counter attack + 23 two hand speed and +18 vs dizzy. I can destroy any master edhancer jedi and most of the others that are not master defender. I have a total of 118 def vs dizzy because of the cvounter attack mod. Yes i agree PD and KD slow you down but i can hit stand fast enought that the person on the other end of my hammer are the ones running .I could not imagine how effective I could be with a 1k + max hammer. With alot of counter attack and pik, pie you barely get it. Id drop tka and get pistols 0040

I, too, have the pistoleer defense tree. tried it without, and came running back.

IMO against High-End-Mobs they are pretty worthless...I was Master Swords/Fencer/Pistoleer 1040 and Elders/Krayts still applied Dizzy/KD/Stun/Blind...After switching to Master Brawler/Swords/Doc 4000 it was way easier for me to solo High-End-Mobs....Intimidate2 is a huge help...Sticks for 2min and can be stacked with intimidate1...A warcry2 gives enough time to heal those nasty Bleeds(had some for +1k ticking)witch Elders love to apply...And with a good macro u will laugh at Dizzy/KD...

Yeah to be honest ive never had a problem with KD dizzy from Elders. They apply states, but I think the main problem with them is like you said...the dreaded bleeds.
