I was wondering which can deal more dmg. I know its dependant on speed cap... etc. Lets say both are speedcapped. I'm not the richest guy in the world so best hammer i can get is like 650. I dunno about the rifle. But I'm dropping tkm so I can do pve more. I'd like to know which I'd be more effective as.

Damage wise, rifles usually are better damage depending on the sword your up against, don't forget, the T-21 is heavy armor piercing, swords are medium at best. Most riflemen though, cannot tank like a swordsman can, and I choose swords overall because the damage is efficient and quick at speed cap, and you have more of a variety of things you can kill that aren't immune to our damage types.

plus we don't have to worry about finding a tank and/or kiting mobs... just need buffs and head out and kill pretty much whatever we want

Riflemen have an edge also in and of the fact that pups give them a larger edge damagewise.
We get a max of 16.xxxx max pups, they get 16.xxxx/33.xxxx min/maxes, which can propel even non-lootmade T21s to 300-800 ranges. HeadHit3 has a higher damage mod than HeadShot3 (3.5x vs. 3.0x), but they get the boost from AR3.
Nothing we have can come CLOSE to Strafeshot2, though. 5.0x damage mod, while 2hHit3 is only 4.0x.

Having been both, I'd say Swords is better overall for PvE. The reason is that Riflemen dependa lot on keeping distance, so while they might eat Elders alive by kiting them (and they do, lol), they wont be as good as a Swordsman in the Geo Labs or someplace. For Swords the difficulty on everything is more balanced, whereas Rifles have it easy in some situations, and in others they get the shaft.
It's a tough choice though... I miss rifles a lot
They're tons o' fun.

I have been both and i would say Rifles is a whole lot better because I eat swordsman+TKMfor breakfast and I outdamage them and get the loot usually. Because we have a jawa ion stun damage And we ahve the mind hit. O btw i haev a 732 max jawa

Oh ya and about the geo lab i can solo it and outdamage teh swordsman at the bottom where there acklay spawns

I have much more fun as a speed-capped, defense stacked Swordsman than I had as a speed-capped rifleman. I do slightly less damage now, but I can tank 2 Krayt Ancients at the same time now.
As a defense stacked swordsman with a fully leveled jedi as a hunting partner, I we can take down Krayt Ancients in 4-6 minutes. We never would have been able to do that while I was a rifleman.

That is impressive without /intimidate to lower his damage output or /taunt to keep him from eating your friends. I can't imagine tanking an ancient or 2 without having them intimidated the whole time. I'd be spending all my time healing and none attacking. And if I couldn't keep the krayts on my all the time with /taunt, my jedi buddy would be eaten for dinner.

Rifles out damage swords...Kinda sad once i was killing the acklay with two other swordsman and they were both speed capped. We got outdamaged by a single speed capped rifleman using strafe 2 or surprise shot 2. Whatever she was using she out damage two speed capped swordsman and one not. That's what you call sad. Oh yeah and if you want to keep playing a rifleman and like swordsman go rifle-swords-man...Great template. Oh yeah and get some medic.
