Thread: can somebody (gorecki, gabe) explain to me the POINT of dmg mitigation????

i mean other than to totally gimp us in PVP?

So TKA's could still do 300-400 DPS to us still, while we whiff away with the PH or they shrug off anything else...

im really getting sick of TK/FENCERS thinking they have skill just because they OUTDAMAGE US.

The reason was:



"We did adjust (creature) damage ranges when we put in the Damage Mitigation. It is only really effective for high level creatures though. You won't see any changes in damage ranges before level 30 but it does increase after that and the higher the level the greater the range. Very high level creatures will most likely not be able to be tanked at all without good damage mitigation."


So the initial step was more PvE than PvP related. Damage mitigation is part of the combat revamp and i am pretty sure that it will all make more sense once we get through the weapons and PvP pass.


I know this doesn't solve your problem for now, but is hopefullyat least an answer to your question.

thanks for the answer.



i just had no idea what it was for because the only outcome i can see is the total nerf of our damage vs other brawlers. (besides pikemen but when did you see a pikemen PVPin)



it really stinks - we are suppose to have high damage as our saving grave yet we have to hit them twice as much and stay alive twice as long to do it.


hopefully the scythe will help some with its speed.

I made a big stink about the PvP ramifications of damage mitigation and I was told see how it comes out with the balance. Let's hope that works.

ah im glad you did.


i had no idea - was it in emails, corr chat? or was it on the fourms?



i know that when i whack away at a tk i only do around 200-245 points of damage and they are hitting me for a lot lot more.



which is just INSANE. it makes winning in PVP twice as tough.


it's made me a lot more skilled as a player but i don't particularly enjoy it.
