Thread: XPing swordsman
I recommend doing the entire techniques line first for speed bonuses. At tech 4 swinging the power hammer is just like using a sword, but with more damage. And secondly once you get head hit 3 not much will last beyond 3 or 4 hits depending on the ham.
My personal experience in reaching master once i reached tech 4 i headed to dathimor and started killing rancor bulls and ancients at will and was getting 5k xp a kill even in large groups with commandos and tka's.

If you can stay buffed and/or have at least some armor, then area attacks will get you more XP more quickly than fighting a single creature at a time. If you cannot stay buffed or if you are going up against really strong targets, it is better to find ways to isolate them one-on-one, where you are better off attacking mind.
I personally leveled using Rifleman Mind bleeds to single pull creatures then switch to sword to finish them off with Sword bleeds and HeadHits. After clearing the area, if I attacked the lair and had multiple creatures spawn on me, I would move away from the lair and do area attacks to hit multiple targets at once. Moving a short distance from the lairensures that you do not keep spawning creatures as yourarea attack keeps hitting the lair along with the critters surrounding you. If there was time, I would also usually try to set a mind bleedon each creature so that I would be sure of doing some damage to each creature no matter what.
I leveled on Picketts, but remember, do not just look at the XP. Consider the time it takes to kill a creature. Quenkers and Huurtons are good XP compared to the ease of the kill. Since it takes less hits to take these critters on, even if they give less XP per kill, you are ahead, and you can more easily take on multiple targets with an area attack of some sort when fighting these.
