For soloing.... is going up offense for the AE attacks better? Since you can kill 5 pickets at once and get mondo xp?

Also is dantooine about the best place to solo?

I didn't do offense first but if I had to do swordsman all over again I would do it first.

Okay, but 1 thing. I use my pet to tank and just attack the mob my pet is fighting so I don't get hurt. Would the speed / mind damage attacks be better? From... umm I forget is it defense... cant remember.

I'm telling you Hurton Stalkers are where it is at.

Group your AT-ST or group with a bunch of other people or a high CL pet.

Get two mission of Hurton Stalkers. Will always pay 10k Each.

Of course on Dantooine.

Group a pet, droid, or friend, just group something with you. If it's anything but your girl or another friend leave back at the outpost tell him to sit or stay or whaveter command you use.

Then pop fishak and a mind increasing meat or a muon gold. Oh yeah you MUST be buffed all 6 stats by a doctor.

Throw on a full set of high kinetic resist Ubese armor.

Run up to the lair and spam unarmed spin 2 or one of the offense area attacks. The XP ROLLS IN from there.

I stated out gettting 4k per kill then before I hit master it was up to 5.5k per kill. Normally 12-16 per lair plus the lair gives off 4.9k.

I mastered Swordsman in 3 days! Only XP'ing a few hours per day. Once you get fast at it you can clean up on XP. 2 missions per run, each run I cleared around 100k XP minimum and 175k XP maximum. If you see a group of Thune or Picket Protectors or something similar right next to the lair. Kill them too! Your there for one reason which is XP.

I can also recommend Finesse III, but since that takes combat XP it might take a while. When I do lairs of two agro/social animals, I find it works very well to use lunge2 (master brawler) then mind hit2 followed by mind hit1. After that, they'll get up and you go and kill the other animal. Once you've dispatched them, you return your attention to the first animal which by now has 1 mind remaining from the bleed ticks and will be finished in a single hit.
It does require you to knock them down I think. Ive gotten up to 3K bleed totals for mindhit1 + mindhit2 while they were knocked down. WHile they weren't, Id only get to 1.5K or so.

Id recommend defense 1, then go up tech tree for all out speed, with spin attack 2, the dmg modifier on it is about the same as area attack 2 and 3

I recommend doing the entire techniques line first for speed bonuses. At tech 4 swinging the power hammer is just like using a sword, but with more damage. And secondly once you get head hit 3 not much will last beyond 3 or 4 hits depending on the ham.

My personal experience in reaching master once i reached tech 4 i headed to dathimor and started killing rancor bulls and ancients at will and was getting 5k xp a kill even in large groups with commandos and tka's.

I just quickly skimmed thru everyones post but I would agree that Dant is great for Xp.. I have been getting in large creature hunting groups and make great swordsmen xp, not to mention you can fly thru scouting XP and make some decent money while you are at it.

If you can stay buffed and/or have at least some armor, then area attacks will get you more XP more quickly than fighting a single creature at a time. If you cannot stay buffed or if you are going up against really strong targets, it is better to find ways to isolate them one-on-one, where you are better off attacking mind.

I personally leveled using Rifleman Mind bleeds to single pull creatures then switch to sword to finish them off with Sword bleeds and HeadHits. After clearing the area, if I attacked the lair and had multiple creatures spawn on me, I would move away from the lair and do area attacks to hit multiple targets at once. Moving a short distance from the lairensures that you do not keep spawning creatures as yourarea attack keeps hitting the lair along with the critters surrounding you. If there was time, I would also usually try to set a mind bleedon each creature so that I would be sure of doing some damage to each creature no matter what.

I leveled on Picketts, but remember, do not just look at the XP. Consider the time it takes to kill a creature. Quenkers and Huurtons are good XP compared to the ease of the kill. Since it takes less hits to take these critters on, even if they give less XP per kill, you are ahead, and you can more easily take on multiple targets with an area attack of some sort when fighting these.

So far I am only 2/2/2/2 in swordsman,I'vebeenhunting on Endor killing Mereks/Crazed Gurrecks/Bols and get great xp. I recently moved to Dant and have been taking Picket missions, itsabout the same xp as with the mereks and bol stompers.

I wear Advanced Ubese and use muon to keep my mind pool up so I can do specials and heal myself. So I dont always go out buffed.
