I've decided to go MHS and want some opinions on what goes well with it. I heard that dodge doesn't work when holding a 2H weapon. Is this true? I was going to cap dodge with pistoleer and fencer. If it's not going to work I need something else to compliment MHS. My hunting partner is a rifleman/doc soI havethat covered. Just need to know if maybeI should go carbineer for some ranged help and possible counter attack. Thanks in advance.

Carbines is trickey, useful to stack status effects and AoE attacks. Your dodge will only work if you are holding a fencer or pistoleer weapon so thats a big waste. You should get Master Brawler for a start, it's a staple if you arn't going to do the doctoring. So Master Brawler/Master Swordsman leaves you with 110 skill points.

You should also consider medic even though your friend is a doctor. Remember if he has to heal you and himself thats twice as much mind useage, it would be better to keep him for healing major wounds and status effects. So lets say you get 2040 in medic, this will allow you to use Stim C's and stop bleeds on yourself, that leaves you with 76 points left.

Now I assume that you will be the tank of the group so defenses are a must. Since you already have Master Brawler why not dabble in some brawling professions? You could take 4000 in Fencer and 4004 in TKA. This would allow you to meditate for the small stat boost and give you +156 Melee defense and +134 ranged defense and leave you with 22 skill points. So far your template looks like this:

[Master Brawler/Master Swordsman/2040 Medic/4000 Fencer/4004 TKA]

What should you spend the last 22 on? Up to you. You could switch between scout and artisan when needed. This would allow you to be an even bigger help to your Doctor friend since you could help him locate and gather resources, both off creatures and from harvesters. At the end of teh day it's up to you, what do you think?

I am a MHS/MasterDoc/Novice Scout. I am too impatient to wait for a buff. I am happy with my template, and it takes a act of god to kill me.

If your gonna make a solo build go with a ranged profession like Pistoleer or Rifleman ... Carbines isnt really meant to solo with cause of the fact they get really SUCKY defenses lol. or you could go with another melee.. but if you go with another melee you have no chance in actually Solo'ing somethin very hard with a ranged attack unless s/he will switch to melee after you hit.

I used to be a TKM so I am definitely keeping the meditation line. My other character is going for Armorsmith so I want scout. I think I might go with TKM, MHS, Scout 3/4/0/0 and the last of it in Medic 4/0/4/0. I thinkthat will use up all of my pointsstill be able to solo well and be a good asset for a group. I'm glad I found out about dodge before I wasted skill points on pistols. Thanks for the help.
