Just trying to figure out what profession would be better for this thanks for the feedback.

For doing high-end-mobs solo - Master Brawler/Swords with medic 0040....Way higher toughness than pike and some nice "pure mind attacks" along with blast as second damage-type.
Going out grouped - Master Brawler/Pike imo is better supporting cuz has very nice area attacks and land some nasty dots...

Well, asking this in the Swordsman board is going to get you some biased answers 
I will always recommend to anyone that asks to go swordsman. I've never been a master pikeman so I can't truely compare and contrast the two, maybe someone else on here has been both and can give some insight.

I've been both. Swordsman is far better for several reasons.
1) Swordsman's accuracy is better
2) Swordsman's damage output is better
3) Swordsman hit mind so we work well with rifleman and we can also kill fast solo by hitting mind
4) We have better defense, I think pike block is broke
5) Ap2 Blast damage is usually more useful then ap1 electricity
6) Swordsmen have some nice area attacks of thier own.

Same here..been both professions on two toons...I prefer Swords over Pikeman. Even if Pikeman has an uber weapon, I found it was lacking in raw damage output. I like the fact that Swordsman can target the mind pool. I know Pikeman can target the Action pool but there is a big difference in damage... IMO.

Elders, Ackva, Krayts = Swordsman
Acklay, Dark Jedi Knights and some other stuff = Both
DWB, corvette, Super Battle Droids = Pikeman
So pick which of those things you would rather kill and make a choice based on that.
Otherwise do master brawler, master swords, master pikes, fencer 3 4 0 0 and novice medic.
