Thread: Is Master Swordsman good with any ranged template

This question sure have been asked before, but can anyone help me. Im missing some ranged combat in my master Swordsman.

i dont like sticking a ranged with a melee profesion. i prefer being a doc for buffing myself and state and dotheals.
but carbineer could be a good choice because of the counterattack. u only need xx2x to be capped tho.
if u choose rifleman u will be the uber mindkiller but its a lack in defense.
pistoleer has some good defenses but its kinda weak.
best thing is 2handedlunge. it can hit enemies that are like 25m away and can force them to kneeling (lunge1) or knock them down (lunge2)

I have Master Swords/ Master Rifleman/ Master Brawler/ TK meditate 1-3 and it works great for me... The sheer amount of mind damage you can put out is great... not to mention that you can attack from range without being detected for a few shots and then switch to the sword once they close on you. Definitely two of the most powerful professions. Like the guy said, the defenses aren't as good as other templates... but then, there's always foods, etc...

My template is almost the same except I chose fencer 3xxx instead of tka for defense.

Youve really got the choice of Swordsman with another melee for more defenses and better tanking ability. Or you can go with rifleman(about the only ranged worth getting, cept maybe FD in smuggler) and be a pure damage giver with a lot lower tanking ability.

if you're gonna pick any ranged profession to go with swordsman, rifleman is def the best choice


master swordsman/ master rifleman/ fencer 4440


all the defenses you need and massive damage at any range


you can save those empty skill points for fs skills too

another good thing about swordsmen and rifleman is they both have damages that focus on mind, so you can really do some damage to either a player or creature

my old template was personally better that most any here have mentioned

My template Master Sword, Master Brawler, Master Rifleman, 1/0/0/0 Fence, Combat Prowess Melee Speed Tree, Enhanced Reflex Melee Def Tree.

I like it alot. Strafeshot from a distant, Warcry when creature closing, then switch back to Power Hammer/Scythe.

Besides, Rifleman also gets decent Acid damage and Stun Damage to complement the swordsman.
