Thread: What sword skill to take to grind FS XP?

I was asking Fencers on their board what skill to take with my Master Doc / TKA template to grind FS XP fastest - they said Sword not Fencer! You guys agree? If I would take one branch of the Sword tree 0 0,4,0,0 for speed? Or drop doc (buffs, cures, state heals) for Master Sword/Master TKM?

The best thing to get in the swordsmantree for quick XP is spinattack 2 which is 0010. You'll want speed also so you might consider going 0410 for the speed and AOE attack. If you do that then be sure to still get a speed sliced PH if you use a PH.

Nah. Keep Doc. I see your point here but by keeping TKM the only thing you are really going to get is an extra 900xp to rack up. But chances are it will take you a full buff session to crank out 900xp swordsman xp. Yeah, you'll have to make more trips to dath, but its more beneficial to your survival to keep Doc and go Master Swordsman. You can solo alot better with that, plus if you decide to do any healing trees, Having Doc could help you tremendously.

Spin attack 2 to level for sure. As far as dropping doc, I like your template so that is really up to you. I would say that there have been many times when I am soloing mobs that I would love to be able to use a stim e to heal myself and buff lines suck so doc might be the way to go.

Remember I'm 0,4,4,2 TKA - not swordman! So since you two say I should keep Master Doc - should I go Master TKM, or are you saying drop TKA for Master Swordman - I personally don't see the benefit of that...

Or should I just stay 0442 TKA - not sure what difference TKM would make on hurtons and quankers (I can solo Jantas easy too)...?

You'll be equally happy with eitherTKM as with Master Swordsman for XP gain purposes.


Animals spawn 10 times more per lair than npc's (jantas), so you get more XP per mission, if XP's what you're after. Jantas drop better loot, and you won't have terrible XP gain either. Then again, Swordsman isessentially as goodat killing Jantas as TKM.


So really up to you... seeing as how you're alreadynear TKM, stay with it. The XP and time you'll waste dropping it and leveling all the way up swordsman outweighs any potential benefit of swords over TKM.

I thougth so, thanks. And staying 0442 TKA vs. TKM - that much difference on quankers and hurtons?

As far as Master Swords vs. TKM for quick XP, Master Swords beats TKM hands down from my experience. I am both and I can cap swords about twice as fast as I can TK. The AOE attacks for swords do much more damage than the TK AOE attacks which means more dead mobs faster. My routine now while grinding my FS XP is to head to Dath, Yavin, Endor, or Dant and hit POI caves and cap swordsman first. I then start working on TK XP until my buff runs out.
