Thread: Advice: keep Exo-protein waffers (damage reduction) ready!

I can confirm that something was changed in the damage mechanics.
I usually go spaming area3 in NS groups whitout elders and they cannot scratch me.
Yesterday, I had to frequently heal and use food while fighting groups with 2 protectors or protectors with 2 spellweavers etc.
Also, ap1 elders hit me hard. It's a little bit harder then before thats for sure. And its random, I easily killed elders like usual.

I think something happened to toughness, as I'm getting hit harder by other mobs as well

If it's a long term thing, I'd just use Sythsteak. Exo-Protiens I only use if I'm in a jam and don't want to mess up an Ahrisa/Snow Cake cycle.

Toughness has been borked since the last patch, and we have yet to hear anything from the Devs about it.
The best part is when you get killed by a protector using a kinetic weapon, when you have her intimidated, CoB running, and you are dressed in high kinetic resistance armor.

Don't foregt they now have force powers back. They are using attacks on you that they didn't use up till last patch.

Force powers have been back since June or July, not since the last patch.

I suggest you test the toughness, I already did that. Toughness still works but there is a random factor involved.
I cannot tell 'toughness its borked'. There is a trigger event for some attacks to avoid your toughness (or armor).
The problem is: we don't know what exactly triggers this damage.

maybe COB is substituting for the toughness. Or maybe a certain state such as stunned or intimidated is doing it.

Well something is going on. I got killed two nights ago. Funny part was that I hadn't lost a full pool in any of my HAM bars. Lowest was Health pool at 267. KD'd and instantly slain, no incapacitation.
Ripping through me now randomly. Still having fun though. Let's just say it's more exciting.

The only thing I have ever needed to go up against protectors and such is my almost 90% comp, my 2 hand speed 6 2 hand damage 4 2 hand ca's 9 ubese shirt, a good scythe, good music/dance/normal buffs and brandy and I do perfectly fine. Oddly enough having master swords for just about 6 months now, I have never used synth steak, or exo's ever lol.

Happened to me yesterday, grinding in ranc valley and had 6 enraged /bullrancs on me, usually not a problem
Then i get KD/Dizzy and im dead shortly after
At first i thought my chestplate went, but it still had 15k condition
