I just made novice swordsman after months of being EXTREMELY weak...but i still die alot.

Someone mentioned a mind bleed attack...which attack is this? Are there any other bleeds? this is my first attempt at a non-crafting related progression, so any help would be appreciated

First tip --- Get Master Brawler!!!

Second Tip --- Get Master Brawler!!!

Master Brawler gives you a couple very important things --> Warcry2 [Delays the enemies around you for 20 seconds] and Intimidate2

Use the special you get when you attain Novice Swordsman, I believe it is called Two Handed Hit 1 [1?]

And also use the swing attack to lower your enemies posture

Melee classes are all about delaying and moving the enemy into a position that you favor, then dealing as much damage as possible.

you dont need master brawler,(i just got it and it is helping my unarmed, polearm and fencing skills progress)but it helps quite a bit, so i would suggest getting it, and make sure your weapons are the best you can get because a melee person is only as good as their weapon. i suggest a cleaver, as the min damage is higher than the curved sword and you wont burn your action bar in a matter of moments. and buffs, food, and spice are your friends, keep decent ammounts on you. because i can take almost anything on with two tatooine sunburn, a thaktillo, and a muon gold. some say armour is a good thing as well, but i dont wear it, as a personal prefrence. and always keep burst run on hold because if the fight gets too much to handle you can burst run away from it.

thats the best i can offer, and also what server you on? if your on wanderhome i can go hunting with you, and kill something if it gets too tough untill you get a little bit into techniques and finesse.

the mind bleeds are mind hit 1 and 2, they are in the finesse tree, and techniques gives you head hit 2 and 3, so techniques is the first tree to work on, then go defense, then offense. (techniques also speeds your attack rate up, and finesse helps acurassy, but takes longer as it is all combat exp)

i hope that helps. good luck

Also, taking up Novice Medic and getting some nice Stims B's can't hurt, assuming you have the skill points for it, and you're mind bar isn't really tiny.

Yes, Use the Stim's Luke. If you are just starting out, go with medic 4-0-0-0 and use stim b's. Also to level quick get sword offense line and take yourself to the old fort tusken lol. spin till your dizzy and watch the xp come in, just make sure to heal often and use lots of moun.

Easiest way to get 2h xp.

once you've gotten your first spin in swordsman, 0.0.1.0 I believe, go to the first room in the warrens and take out the huurtons. And take stims..lots of them. That room will yield a plethera of xp. I did it over and over and leveled the low skills fast.

Sjafi,

Increase your mind stats if you haven't already done so. Make sure you increase the secondaries too, I have mine maxed on every stat. A swordsman with no mind is an easy target for another swordsman, under 600 with no helmet and your a one hit kill for anyone with mind hit 3.

Second, get rid of that adv mabari, its a nice looking armor but its not worth wearing. I recommend a nice set of adv ubese when fighting creatures. Find a good smith with a get a set with high kinetic resist, 60% or better. Don't worry about the saves, u can use a different armor against guns, etc. If your lucky you'll get a good encumber slice as our specials have insane costs.

Then wear your helmet into battle! I recommend putting it into a hotkey so you can take it on and off easily while in combat. When you need to heal yourself, press your hotkey for helmet and then heal, then get your helmet back on quick. This will reduce the mind cost of healing. If you use COB take it off for that too, but I didn't find COB to be very useful until i got too higher lvls anyway.

Hm, I recently got novice swordsman, too. I went to Dantooine and slowly killed huurtons for xp to get novice swordsman. Now, I'm in Naboo slowly killing plains stalkers for xp. At the time, I was doc buffed so the plains stalkers couldn't touch my health/action. But no matter what, I ALWAYS have a problem with mind. 90% of the time I get mind incapped more than anything else, and when I do fight these stronger creatures, I am unable to use ANY special moves because it would end up killing my HAM. Even doing a couple specials on a mob would put me in danger of being incapped because the mobs always go for my mind.

Up till now, I was using a full set of Mabari armor. I added up the % statistics and it wasn't even 50% put together, so I am going armorless for now. Any tips to NOT getting mind incapped?

As far as the skills, I thought going the defensive(3rd one) would be best for me since I'm getting hit so often.

Would my best bet being to get mind food and a ton of buffs? It seems odd that I am not able to solo on my own right now.....then again, I'm fighting mobs with 9k hp.
