I love Swordsman. And I just began my journey towards Swordsman, but im concerned about Heavy Swordsman lack of defenses!

Im not the type of guy who likes to wear armor or buffs, so im wondering what defenses to take up?

I love PVP by the way But PVE is cool too!

I just wanna be strong with my sword/hammer/scytche!

I thought about master brawler and maybe fencer which both looks cool! But maybe Creature Handler would be usefull to have en extra tank(seems like a fun proffesion)

I dont really like medic! Well I like them, but no the concept of healing myself instead of others, and I dont really wanna waste Skill points on it

So im wondering what to take instead! maybe carbineer for more counter attack?

novice medic is probably 1 of the most important skills in the game. that is unless you always hunt in groups.

fencer and pistoleer both have pretty good defense stats to there classes.
carbines have pretty weak defenses and all the xtra counter attack is wasted with the +125cap.
the master brawler/ insert 2nd melee profession template is a bit of a standard 1 now in the game.
ch, well as of the current game, its pointless imo. with 2k+buffs, 70-80% resist armor theres not much need for a tank since everyone can tank for themselves

id really also read thru the many other threads on this same subject to get other idea's

You're not the type of guy to wear armour or buffs? What do you mean? You like to die instantly?

No I think he means that he actually enjoys using his brain during a fight instead of spamming AOE attacks.

LOL, try "using your brain" against a Rifleman with a Krayt-Jawa. The only thing your brain would be useful for is painting the walls.

Prior to the nerfs to defenses and the addition of Mitigation you could've sprinkled some TKA into your defense stack and getaway with this but in todays PvP structure and fighting it is...unrealistic. Regardless of how much you stack, fighting unbuffed and naked will keep you booked at the cloner.

Defense stack some TKA and Fencer, mastering brawler isnt worth it like it used to be. If you don't want to waste skill points I suggest you stay in the brawler/medic trees and leave that creature handler stuff alone. Just my 2 cents.
