Swordsman Archive
Thread: Something about our wonderful profession just doesn't sit right with me.
Ok, so I reached Novice Swordsman this weekend, and while reasearching the whole thing I realized that our elite weapon is the Power Hammer. I don't honestly get it. I didn't think that a power hammer was a sword. So, I jumped over to Dictionary.com and looked up some definitions. I looked up Swordsman. Then sword. Here is definition 1 for both terms. Neither of which lead me to believe that our only non-lootable (schematic at least) elite weapon is any way a sword.
Does this erk anyone else? Confuses me. Yes, the power hammer is a two handed weapon. But, if our profession was only about two handed weapons, it shouldn't have been called Swordsman, IMO.

And you've got to admit that Master Swordsman is a better title than Master Wielder of of Large Melee Weaponry Some of which May or May Not be Long and Sharp.
And by the same token, Master Fencer (/cry over the corpse of Blademaster) works out better for one handed fighters than Master wielder of Pipes and Bobby Sticks.
