hi,

I'm in the process of dropping Pistoleer for Swordsman. I currently have the "speed" line from Pistoleer which grants quite a bit of melee defense. I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to Swordsman to hold on to this melee defense and drop skills from my other profession, Creature Handler, instead.

Any thoughts on the matter?

Swordsman + Pistoleer would be a good combo. Your defense vs whatever defenses would stack quite well and you will end up with high melee and ranged defense plus damage mitigation for melee and ranged making you quite tough.

yes! another person who actually has looked into that

. thats what im currently going towards now. master pistol, master swords, 4000 fencer and 4100 or 2130 medic. this is what you'll get from that spec currently

Counterattack +100
Defense vs Blind +50
Defense vs Dizzy +60
Defense vs Intimidate +20
Defense vs Knockdown +75
Defense vs Posture Change +30
Defense vs Stun +90
Dodge +95
Melee Defense +134
Ranged Defense +91

i thought long and hard on what kinda combo to do that is semi original to just have some fun with. too many brawler templates, sword/rifle, etc. i havent really done alota pvp yet as im just at 2243 pistol, 0411 sword, 2000 fencer. but its pretty good in pve right now, which is my main focus in the game this moment

my current template is master swordsman,master fencer,master brawler,tka 4/0/0/0 and medic 0/0/4/0. i have ground through alot of templates and this has been by far the most rewarding. it is not only a great pve template w/swordsman and the fencer defense mods but if you like to pvp you can switch to fencer. i have soloed nightsister caves,the geo cave,and the force crystal hunter caves. in the end it all depends on what your looking at and what you want to accomplish in the game. hope this helps.

I think dodge is weapon specific so unless you equip a pistol it will not benefit you.
