ok ive just started the swordsman profession and am enjoying it very much, i mainly pve so im not botherd about pvp, currently im looking at aiming towards this build
Master swordsman
Master brawler
Master medic
TKA 2003 or 4
maybe novice doc
my idea being is to gain powerboost from the meditation tree of tka and the melle defense and defense actuity skill from the combat xp line of tka hopefully boosting the swordsmans mediocre defensive skills, anyone tried this your opinions please

Ok im TKM and novice swordman TKM powerboost is pretty cool it lasts for 10min and buffs your stats its good if i were u id go for medatate 4 as you can heal all wounds + posion an desiese Including mind wounds you will be runing out of Skill points near enough so i dont think u can go doc The one thing about melee defence for tkm is dizzy defence we dont have any really + 5 is all are biggest weakness if your going for melee def go fencer

if your looking for melee and ranged defense there is a tree in fencer that does that, thats not combat xp. If im not mistaken Defensive Acuity is akin to the counterattack skill and in essence doesnt work with a sword in your hand but i could be wrong
Been wondering about the stacking of melee and ranged defense myself as im going Master Swordsman Master Brawler 4-0-0-0 TKA for wound healing powerboost and the Force of will. Was wondering if Melee and ranged defenses stack regardless of the weapon being held myself. Sorry to Hijack the post but the same thing has been bugging me for some time now as well.

well looking at the defence trees of tka and fencer, tka gives more hand to hand defense and fencer gives much better ranged, wether thease stack between trees i dont know, i get the impression they do but i think this is being changed, as for defense acuity its descriptions says it increases your cahnce of reacting with a special defense ( in our case counter attack) as tkas have no special defense other than this its seems to encourage cross classing for defensive abilities, wether it actually works i dont know, ill investigate the tka board
