Hey, I just mastered swordsman and I must say it is the funnest combat profession I've ever done. We are crazy powerful in PvE, and and hold our own in PvP with some smarts. I took out a Teras Kasi Master in a duel at MHS no problem, ate some anti-KD food and he couldnt put me down with that dizzy/KD combo. Mindhits with my scythe and down he went. I also went out and took down a SpiderClan Grand Witch Elder or whatever they were called, and was able to solo a handful of nightsisters without buffs even. Just COB and headhit3 till they hit the ground. Anyhow, now I need something to complement MHS, so I was considering Doctor, Ranger, Combat Medic, or Rifleman/Brawler. I am leaning towards doctor so I can heal my own states, buff myself, and heal my entire health/action in one shot when buffed.

I am mainly focused on PvE, hard MOB hunts, rare loot, and want to hunt down RIS components myself just for somethin to do. (even though RIS isnt good at all...bleh). My question is to all those who are/were Master HS/Master Docs, have you found another MHS template to be better for tough MOB hunting? Are there any drawbacks to this template? What do you do with your other 18 pts? Exploration I? Surveying I?

Thanks!

Ci'o Yiir (Naritus)

I went 0440 Doc/MHS. Gives a lot more options and all I lose is about 200-300 on my buffs. I do have to buy them or have a friend make them for me, but I'd do that anyway if I were a MDoc.

The Doctor skills are only useful IMO for self buffing. You can heal just as well for 0040 Medic and Stim D's. Revive is obviously useful, but I think I might have used it twice in the last 3 months.

I took up the hunting line as I like to havest when I'm out killing.

Awesome! To take out the NS unbuffed I used a Scythe, and had to pop 2 stim bs to heal myself before she went down cause of the HAM cost. She didnt even last 20 seconds. The scythe is like 2.1 speed, so I can spam hh3 almost at the cap if not at the cap. Very fast regardless. =)

I also noticed that I definately do counterattack often when browsing my combat log. I expected it to be way worse and less useful than it is. It doesnt seem near as useful as dodge, but maybe thats cause we dont see a counterattack animation?

/agree with amandil. I am also a 0440 Doc, MHS and 4300 TKA. Losing 300 on the buffs isnt bad at all, I still buff myself a respectable 2100. I still have the TKA skills mostly for the wound heal. I dont like carrying around woundpacks, and if you do ever get in trouble FOW is always nice.

master swordsman master doc is great buffs heals etc.all great fun i make stim e's with average resources and i'm getting 2.5k per heal and 60 uses oj the stim so thats a benifit.i'd stick with master doc though tbh unless your big on pvp cause swordsman alone is geeod enugh for pve and you get better buffs as master doc as well as disease and posiion heals (very good if your fighting things like the gdk, disease of 300 per tick means you want to heal it fast)

I tackled the Genosian Cave Friday night for the first time as a Master Doc/Master Heavy Swordsman. Talk about a rush, fighting four enhanced Kwis simultaneously was the best challenge I have experienced since two of my buddies and I fought a Dark Jedi Master.

It wasn't easy but the enhanced kwis all went down. Master Doc and Heavy Swordsman is an excellent combo.

Great point. That's another reason I would choose master doc over just 0/4/4/0 doc, being able to cure poison and disease in combat instantly. I plan on picking up some ranged defense and melee defense modded armor/clothing to help me with defenses a bit. Has anyone tried any of the other templates? MHS and Combat Medic? Are the poison ticks on mind worth it in PvE?

I have mastered both at differnat times and both are awesome Profs. CM is an awesome group support toon with ranged heals for over3k and area heals that go to 2500 a toss for anyone in 30m of my target.

However there will be no one that has mastered them both at the same time just not enough SP for it and both profs are heavily waited towards master as far as the power curves go IMHO

Yeah, if I went Combat Medic with it I would go 4/4/0/4 and buy all my combat meds. The good thing about Combat Med is that I would get some terrain negotiation, and could throw some poisons so in pvp I would be a bit better.

At 4404 you will be limited to only good single poisons/diseases so if you are focused on PVE that is fine casue i always use my singles for that anyhow.

however, you will not be able to use area poion/disease Cs or ranged stim E's ( just use area Cs and you are fine on that). The only time i bust out my areas is when i am defending/attacking a base my Mdoc/MCM toon usualy serves as a poisoner and a poison healer for my group. If you do any of that style PVP a well placed toss can get a group to have to pay attention to there mind pool more.

I really like master doc/MHS. Get some brandy and synsteak. Move all stats to mind at the expense of the ones you can buff and put a 2361 buff on every stat for 3hr 8 minutes a wack. You will be rockin the house even more...
