2 Hand Mind Hit is our mind bleed. Hit a mob with this and you'll notice the little 'bleeding' icon appear to the left of your opponents HAM bar. Bleeds are really nerfed at the moment, but applying a bleed in a fight you know will last a while is still a good idea.

Mindhits, like Rifleman Mindshots, bleed the mind pool. (Headhits and Headshots damage the mind pool.) Bleeds will cause wounds more often than just a straight attack, that is why there is a mention of wounding the mind pool in the description, but as indicated by the previous poster, MindHits cause bleeds, one of the types of damage over time attacks.

One thing to also note is that, while they greatly nerfed the bleed damage, they made a change so that your initial hit causes some actual damage. It used to be that bleeds bypased armor and resistances and that the initial hit did not damage but simply acted to record the damage number for the bleed ticks.

Now, your intial hit will do damage to the mind pool just like a HeadHit would do. And since armor and resists are taken into account, this could be a big number or small number, one that is on par with a HeadHit with the same damage multiplier as the MindHit. But the bleeds themselves are greatly reduced. You will typically see bleeds ticking at 100 - 200 damage per tick now instead of the 1,000+ ticks we used to get. Also, bleeds no longer stack, so you can only put 1 bleed per pool now. It used to be that, as a Rifleman/Swordsman, I could put up to 4 bleeds on the mind pool, but no more.

Thank you for the explanation. That whole wound description in the skill tree really threw me.

I know that the description of this attack is that it wounds the mind pool but does that serve any practical purpose. Wouldn't sticking to the attacks that Damage the pool be more to the point? Or am I missing something?
