Soon to be introduced is the removal of the recursive macro, rendering our COB macro useless. I know it really doesn't work that well in PvE, but that is really not the point.

This is stupid!!! It's a minor problem at best. Wait. Didn't they push back combat revamp until after JTTl because they had too much to do? THEN WORK ON COMBAT REVAMP!! Quit screwing around with the little **edit** nobody else really cares about and fix the problems the PLAYERS have been asking to have fixed SINCE RELEASE!

Bad move again I think. There are 948,999,999 things that should be fixed instead of this. I use AFK buffbots all the time for mind buffs because I can never find a non afk entertainer to do it.

Fix COMBAT, not looping macros.

I actually think it's a good thing. Buffs? Who needs them? Oh, I forgot, everyone here buffs because "it's the only way to do things (TM)." But oh, look, it's NOT the only way to do things...

I started playing SWG at the end of January, and at that time I began Swordsman and Artisan. I ground through Artisan, but I worked my way through Swordsman the fun way... going out and taking missions when I needed money, not getting buffed at all, starting out using mabari armorweave and finally upgrading to kinetic ubese much later. I finally mastered Swordsman some 2-3 months later. And I actually felt like I had accomplished something. These days people go out and master combat professions in a week, or even days, because of buffs. Buffs ruined a lot of the game - it allowed players to speed through content that the devs thought would take months.

Of course, I expect to be flamed into nonexistence for my beliefs on the subject. Sorry for getting offtopic.

AMEN, AMEN, damn straight. I too am a Master Swordsman. I have been playing this game since June, 30th 2003. I worked my ass off to get MSwordsman: Doing tuskan runs the old fashion way; grouping; and just tracking things as ranger. It took me 5 months to master swordsman (I know, I know, a very long time, but I took my time with it plus I didn't play every single day. Also I was tinkering with other professions). When I master Swordsman, it was the greatest feeling in the world. THEN! THEN! THEN THE HOLOCRONS CAME!!!! As many of you probally noticed, Buffs and holocrons came to popularity at the same time. DAMN YOU JEDI! DAMN YOU BUFFS! DAMN YOU DEVS!!!!!! Yet I still play the game, why? MIddle-earth online isn't out yet and I MAKE MY OWN CONTENT (which I shouldn't HAVE to do)!! PLus my friends. You devs can kiss the fattest part of my @ss. (yeah I know, Family Guy. Don't waste the effort to tell me).

why would an afk buff bot be annoying to anyone ? If someone is afk spamming just add him to ignore, or leave the starport.
Grinding through crafting professions is allready completely retarded as is. What is the point of having to craft 50000 times the same item before you can start to produce good things ? It's allready enough pointless clicking.
Having to do all that grind without recursive macroes would just make it much more worse. Now sure, there is no more hologrinders, so only new players would be affected, but there are things like the cob macro, or loot macro that are useful and make you gain time.

All this will do is damage the player that stays within the rules set by SOE. Those that use illegal 3rd Party Programs will get a larger advantage than those without. Nice one Devs...

lol that is so true. The sad part is that SOE is completely aware of it (they state it in the official post).

The thing is they are either gonna have to take out the entire concept of ui action toolbarSlot XX, or remove macros from being able to be called by pushing a toolbar button. The reason I say this is they can take out the part of the macros where you can call another macro buy using the command macro XXX in your macro, but it would just be replaced with ui action toolbarSlot XX, with that macro put in the toolbarSlot XX. I think either of these changes are gonna end up hurting the legitimate users of the macro then the abusers.

My issue is I use combat macros all the time. I use simple stuff like /HeadHit3; /macro HH3. This macro just spams head hit III non stop. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but come on a speed capped swordsman vs. a Krayt or an Elder, is just asking for some serious finger pain if they don't. Maybe its just me, but I adopted using these macros because after a couple long fights my fingers really hurt from the constant pushing of combat moves. If you are attacking every second that is a minimum of 60 clicks per minute .. ouch.
