i kno the combat balance has been postponed, but im wondering if these 2h speed tapes are really worth it considering we dont kno the future of swordsman. in my opinion, 30 mil is a large investment and i want to make sure i get my moneys worth. so what do you people think. are 2h speed tapes still a good investment?

I have a feeling that enhancing the speed will always be worth it: with careful arrangement of your tapes you will be goign through weapons but always have the speed enhancement on hand. Another way to look at it is how much that 25-30 million costs you relatively and how much more quickly you might make it back with the aid of the speed enhancment.

i heard rumors that after the cb, you wont even be able to deathblow when mind pool is empty.

Although I would love to be wrong about this, my impression from reading around the forums is that the Combat Balance isn't exactly racing up to meet us. So I would consider the game as it is now, and as it is likely to change in the near future along with the apparent sense of forboding that you appear to have for the Combat Balance.

As for not being able to deliver a deathblow on those incapacitated due to mind depletion, so what? You've incapacitated them before they have done so to you, that's a victory. And neither does that preclude the usefulness of attacking any particular pool in vs. Environment play.

Are you really asking about the speed tapes, or whether it is worth it for you to remain a swordsman? If you are to remain a swordsman, the tapes are in almost all cases likely to be worth it. If you are not to remain a swordsman, then of course those tapes are not worth it, you would be better off spending your money on the profession you feel would best replace swordsman.

Another thing to consider if you plan on taking a few force sensitive skills after publish 10, is that you can get +12 to melee speed through that. Can save you millions and be fun as well.

no one knows what the cb will be like including the devs. in their interviews theyve basically said that they havent even started on it yet..

What happens, are they permanently knocked down and immobilized until their mind recovers, so you can still hack away at their health/action?

Exactly. All they've done is a couple of "high level" meetings which basically means, "Hey lets do a combat balance! Ok, great idea! We'll get to it after lunch."
