Thread: Scythe Quest after 9.25?

I understand that it's possible to solo the krayt that spawns by/on the chest for the scythe schematic quest. Is it still possible after the latest patch? I'm not too keen on trying to get the schematic only to get pounded and killed. I plan on going in 80% kinetic, power boosted, fully doc buffed with mind food/drink, muon, and pixie, and swinging the scythe I have now (which is going to need to be replaced soon).
Never tried soloing a krayt before, but considering everything I've read about the scythe quest, I'm almost looking forward to trying as long as I can get my schematic first!

9.25, as far as I know, only applied to NPC mobs, not creature mobs. Krayts should be unaffected by this change. Regardless, if you're really worried about it, keep your bike out and just hop on it once the krayt spawns. You can open the chest on the bike, then you can drive away to safety. The mission krayt is programmed to be no loot anyway, so it's useless to kill him.

the spice downer will be your undoing. it's not needed. brandy,ahrisa,canape-pop an emergency muon only if necessaery.

How hard does the Krayt hit for.... I mean with 80% kenitic, top buffs (total about 4k HAM after natural / buffs / food / spice) is is really going to get you before you can bike away?

If you want to solo a Krayt that bad, then just kill a normal one. The one that spawns from the quest will not give you any loot.
So for the quest:
-Leave your bike out
-Open chest take schem and any other useful things
-Warcry then Peace Krayt
-Hop on bike and head to your local weaponsmith. (yellow cubes help too)

if u are planning to run u dont need buffs food or anything else well maybe armor
First u dig up the treasure with the map (still on ur bike) then fly away so the dragon isnt interested anymore then fly back going around the dragon (far enough so he doesnt attack) and get ur schematic
it worked for me

I had a rifleman/commando friend stand 50m away from me up on the hill and shoot at the Krayt the moment it spawned, it took the dragon's attention and gave me at least an extra few seconds to scan the chest and grab the schematic and run.
I had 80% kin comp, 47% synthsteak, 2x brandy, ahrisa and canape along with 2500+ doctor buffs and I got out alive (I was a swordsman/rifleman at the time). Ignore everything else in the chest other than the schematic, they're all junk.

I think I let all the hype of how deadly the krayt is get to me. Just on a whim I decided to go and do the quest in my ubese with just brandy, ahrisa, and power boost, no other buffs at all. I think I took about 300 damage total while the krayt chased me around. Got my schematic no problem.
Now to just do the valarian quests, then reset so I can get another schematic and do the themeparks again too.

I don't know if i have just been lucky but i simply put /warcry on the krayt, looted the schem and crappy cdef pistol that was in there too and legged it.
