I've always loved Melee, and I'm looking for a well balanced melee profession between PvP and PvE. I know Swordsman have insane PvE/Tanking skills, but it seems to me as they lack in the PvP department. Please correct me if I'm wrong. =)

We seem to do well against Jedi. Other than that, I dunno..headhit3 with a nicely powered acklay power hammer seems to put a hurt on people.

The only way you are going to suceed with PVP with Master Sowrdsman is two-fold:
- Getting better defences
- Getting a reliable dizzyknockdown
This can be solved by combinitin wit either TKM or Fencer
I am a Master Swordsman TKA 4314 whihc gives me all the state attacks and with my spped sliced Virbro and heavy hitting hammer I swap and change between the two proffesions dealing out damage whenevr possible with my might hammer to their head.
Fencer I guess you can pull of somehting similar but with the added advantage of betetr defensies and a Stun attack (to add to your blast and kin attacks)
have a check at the PVP guild somewhere on the forum for more details.

i used to have master brawler/swordsman/fencer tk 4/0/03 and novice medic, that to me was a great PvP template for high defenses, and with good Weapons u are really good.

I’ve been playing around with pvp the last few weeks and I don’t fair too bad the other night I went 5/5 for my duels all against melee guys and took out a cm, pistoleer, and a commando in the last few days. All in all its great fun and we do pretty good. I like to sit in the shuttleport unbuffed and ask if anyone wants to duel. Most people think I can’t do much damage or will die quick without the buffs and duel me. Then hit 2x the food(can’t think of the name off hand) that adds +1100 to health/action/mind, 2x 427 brandy, and a muon gold for rifleman/swordsman/cm/tka or pixiy for anyone else, then hand out the beat down. I end up with like 2700health/2700action/4500mind with out any buffs. I just started playing so I don’t have any great stuff but I use 38%stun with 65% base armor and a scythe I made with 340 max damage works pretty good. My scythe just broke so I’m using a 2h curved with around 350 top side damage its ok for unbuffed fights/ranged guys. I would say of all the proff I’ve played swordsman is the best (I just started playing about a month ago, but I did some pistoleer early on). My build is master brawler/swords with a few in tka/fencer for def and meditate and novice medic for healing.

Currently I'm running with Master Brawler, Master Sword, TKM and some Fencer...My defenses are stacked and against Melee players and I have my hotkeys lined up as follows:
F1- Intimidate 2
F2- Gammorean Battle Axe (mind disease) --usually already equipped
F3- 2 Handed Mind Hit 2
F3- CoB ( I save this tactic because I want to give the combat que enough time to let me readily equip my VKs)
F4- Equip Vks
F5- Unarmed Stun
F6- Unarmed Dizzy 2
F7- Unarmed KD2
F8- Unarmed Lunge 2 (by this time almost all almost everyone I have dueled is down on their backs)
F9- Warcry 2 (Again to stall the combat Que)
F10 Equip Scythe (Speed Sliced to 1.5) with 33% max damage PU added
F11 2 Handed Head Hit 3 (spam the Hell out of this one and watch their mind fall) With my speed sliced Scythe I can hit them as fast as I can push the button
I also have other commands on my second row, such as my Acklay PH, which I rarely use because it is power sliced and somewhat slow against an experienced PvP (of which I am not)
This combo here makes the mind the primary target, it may take some time and you may have to go through the sequence a few times, but it is very devastating to anyone with low mind pools, whether they are mind buffed or not.
I have an Acklay Stun Baton, but I almost never use it because once the TKM Dizzy and KD take hold, I havent needed it, and so far the basic unarmed stun has always been able to help out. I think this would be much more effective if it werent for having to wait now on the combat que to load your weapons.
I for one never use a Macro to fight, so play around with and let me know what you think. So far my greateset enemies have been kiters who run around in tight circles.

i am using a Master Swordsman/Master tk/4440 Fencer/novice medic, works pretty well to use avk for a kd or dizzy, janta knife for poison, and acklay hammer at 4.2 speed without powerup to do the dmg. sometimes have some trouble with the ranged guys such as a pistoleer with a nice geo blaster (one on valcyn with a 450 mind fire) can lay waste fast.

I can basicly fight anyone except fencer/docs and kiteing rifleman, but thats with my template mix.It helps greatly to have fencer or doc, something that can work as a crutch for swordsman's lack of defenses.

bunch of dot whores on this thread eh??
i dont ever use dots unless dots are used on me first... and then they find themselves with a total of 750 mind poison and 100 disease on them lol.
as to the original post... swordsman can be incredibly deadly in pvp. you dont HAVE to be speed capped or have uber armor/weapons/template to do well. but you HAVE to be experienced with pvp situations and you HAVE to know the profession.
best way to learn ur profession the best is thru not grinding it but really playing it and dueling ppl before u even hit master. and once u hit master duels are still good.
once uve steadied ur hand enough to do good in duels, go overt. might not have a fun experience th efirst few times... but ull get the hang of it and with experience comes success.
swordsman are deadly, thats all i can say.
