this is a template question hehe
I am master swordsmans(obviously) and rifleman
I been dabling in TKA 2004 atm and i had medic 1100 and my question iscan you do a elder with out any medic?
I was thinking about killing medic and going into master brawler for speed and all those nice updates. I know when i solo a elder there a time when i have to heal up a bit but maybe with Brawler intimidate 2 will be alot better then intimidate 1 and all the bonouses i will get with 2hand swordsman
First of all, as others have mentioned, you can't really half-ass the Meditation line of TKA. Either max it or drop it (I'd recommend maxing it for wound healing, power boost, and state heals).
I have hunted/solo'd quite a few Elders since mastering Brawler, and I can tell you that with decent buffs (2200+) and 80% Composite, I have only had to heal myself once - when I accidentally removed my chest plate during a fight. The only damage you should have to worry about is Mind damage. So, to answer your question: yes, you should be able to solo an Elder without any Medic skills. As long as you have the buffs, the armor, and keep 'em intimidated you really should have no problem.
On a side note, I think that Center of Being is currently overrated. I have kept a close eye on the combat log while fighting Elders, and did not notice any significant difference whatsoever between being Centered and not. 99% of the time, the Elder hits me - with or without CoB being active. I do believe that CoB does have its uses (against the weaker Nightsisters, for instance, and against weaker MOBs in general), but I think it's a waste of Mind when hunting Elders. I encourage anyone who doesn't believe me to run some tests yourself. Fight Elders with and without CoB active. Keep a close eye on the combat log. I'm confident that you won't notice any significant difference.

Mm.. i mentioned this in another post i think, but I've been told most of the Highest level mobs have 100% accuracy despite ur defence (melee or ranged) so the defensive mods really is the only way to stop yourself getting hit.. maybe max out counterattack at 125 and then try CoB, see if that helps? I was killing elders last night and did notice counterattack helping a bit (avoided 2 very nasty Cascade of Hatred that could have finished me off) but i didn't try an elder without CoB - will try one tonite if i get chance
as for a waste of mind - 2 decent brandies (or 3 if ur lucky enough to know a fab chef) and 2 or 3 decent Canape and u shouldn't be having problems with mind anyway.. I'm not speedcapped atm but can kill elders before my canape runs out
I'm pretty sure accuracy is capped at 5% for the min and 95% for the max. And, my comments concerned Elder hunting before the patch that brought back weapons and specials. I haven't had the chance to fight one since the patch, so I don't know how CoB's effectiveness was changed, if at all. As for Mind, I always have as much Brandy and Canape going as my stomach will allow, and sometimes it does indeed go down... the only bar that went down, in fact. Anyways, you must have a pretty sweet PH if you can kill an Elder in 11 or so minutes and not speedcapped. I'm not speedcapped either, and it takes me 15-17 min (depending on how much time I choose to waste stacking Intimidates and trying to apply various DoT's from looted weapons).
Btw... has anyone else noticed that when u get an Elder's Mind bar down to around 40% her resists start to drop? They stop at 50%, 14% on the weaker ones i think...

Hmm, why not? The only things u gain from 4-x-x-x instead of 2-x-x-x tkawill be theability to mediate wounds and force of will...with 2-x-x-x i´m able to cure bleeds/poison/disease and have powerboost....
