I seem to have to explain this daily. Which is fine as its a popular product and its my job to produce. However Ive decided to write it all down for the general good. Also, I can then just cut and paste it into my mail.

The scythe schematic has two uses. Each use can produce a maximum of 2 scythes (based on known loot drops).

In summary, for each use of the scythe schematicto produce :

  • 1 scythe requires : Scythe Schematic + metals +either :

    • 2 identical geo sword cores or
    • 1 geo sword schematic + 3 identical cubes / 3 identical solidifying agents) + metal

  • 2scythes require : Scythe Schematic + metals +either :

    • 6identical geo sword cores or
    • 1 geo sword schematic +7 identical cubes /7 identical solidifying agents) + metals

I will explain now explain why !

How do I make 1-2 scythes per use of the scythe schematic:

The ingredients : A master weaponsmith. A single use of Scythe Schematic, 60-180 carbonite steel, 30-90 phrik aluminium and 2-6 identical sword cores.

WhenI say identical it means the serial number (viewable when you examine / preview the item in inventory) is the same on all cores.

The SR component of the metals used makes a better scythe, the closer this value is to1000 the more damage/quicker your scythe will be.

The cores have damage and speed properties too. Thus the better the cores the better the scythe.

With just 2 identical sword cores, the metals and one use of the schematic your friendly weaponsmith can make one scythe.

Now if you have looted/bought/stolen or begged 6 identical sword cores (never seen more than 7 identicalso 6 is the current practical maximum for scythe making purposes)your weaponsmith can do the following :

Use 2 identical sword cores and the metals to make a factory schematic. This only uses one use of the looted schematic. Its a bit tricky but basically theweaponsmith is making a factory schematic from a looted schematic. Then by placing the remaining four cores and metals in a factory your weaponsmith can generate two scythes (hurrah !). This only works as the metals and cores are identical. Factories need identical components.

How do I make a better, more hurty, quicker scythe :

Withexceptional looted genosian sword cores (their names are in yellow) you will make a nice scythe. However most weaponsmiths with the right materials will be able to craft a better genosian sword cores themselves. I personally have made sword cores with min/max in the 60/70's from good components. So we come to the second part of the scythe saga.

How do I make identical genosian sword cores ?

The ingredients : A master weaponsmith. A single use of Genosian Sword CoreSchematic, 150-350 Neutronium Steel, 3-7 identical Power Cubes (yellow for damage enhancements), 7 identical Solidyfying Pastes/Agents (also known as toothpastes due to their graphic)

In order to make one scythe as above we need to make 2 identical genosian sword cores. Your weaponsmith is going to need 3 identical power cubes (colour doesnt matter other than for effect, basically yellow = damage) and 3 identical solidyfying agents. Typical stats on these are damage modifiers of +10 on each. Ive seen cubes as highas 24 and pastes as high as 15. Im sure there are better.

The reason 3/3 cube/paste is needed is that your weaponsmith will need to make a factory schematic with 1/1 cube/paste and then 2/2 to actually use in the factory. In most cases crafted cores are better than looted.

In order to make two scythes from cubes/pastes you will need 7 identical cubes and 7 identical pastes (I have never seen drops of more than 7). Why ? Well 1/1 will be used to make the 6 identical genosian sword cores and the need for six...has already been explained.

The Weaponsmith Forum "Comprehensive Weaponsmith Loot Enhancements/Components/Schematics" stockied thread explains where in the Geo caves to loot these items as well as the effects of different cubes.

In all cases, remember pay your weaponsmith well, pray to Ungar the God of "no critical fails" and please use your scythe responsibly...I have heard lots of stories where they have hurt folks !

CRAFTING EXPERIMENT OUTCOMES :

Cores 70% Neutronium10 Cube + 10 Agent = 45/56 -.45
Scythe Stats : 96% Steel, 89% Phrik + above cores = 189/336 2.7 damage (91% dmg exp. no mods or amazings)

Cores 70% Neutronium 14/15 Cube + 10 Agent = 49/61 -.45 (66% dmg exp. 2 mods)
Scythe Stats : 96% Steel, 89% Phrik + above cores = 198/340 2.6 damage (93% dmg exp. no mods or amazings)

Cores : Looted 37/91's (nice cores !)
Scythe Stats : 96% Steel, 89% Phrik + above cores =183/370 2.5 damage (97% dmg exp) oh and later got a 31% damage slice to take this baby into the 480's max d)

Ive added an example of a finished scythe with stats for the bits that made it to give you an idea of what to expect...results may vary from server to server

Well explained.

I would like to point out though that making more scythes from one schem may not always be what you want. There is a trade off. If you have some super duper uber cores made from the best yellow cubes and toothpaste, you may want to burn the schem uses and not waste the cores in a factory schem. This is a tough call though, because right now tthere are plenty of schems around, but they will eventually start to dry up.

Your absolutly right and although I have concentrated on the 4 scythes, the quality of cores is a very big conisderation.

could u give me an idea what kind of output u would get with 44 max 38 min geo sword cores? and i would need 3 of these per schematic correct?
