Thread: Your PvP Only Build:
I play on Scylla as a PvE only character. I am creating a new character on Lowca for the express reason of becoming a Jedi Hunter along with a gaggle of my friends. However, having only built PvE builds before I am a little lost on PvP builds. From what I hear melee is the shizzle in PvP. I am considering going Swordsman, and am on my way to Master Brawler (3/4/3/1 currently).
What I ask is:
1) What is your PvP build?
2) What are it's strengths and weaknesses?
3) What are some keys to making your build work? (armor, weapon, tapes)
I want to see a few variations and how they work so I can build a frame from the suggestions that I can fine tune to fit my style. I know there are a lot of threads I can search, but they often end in 2 ways; 1) downplaying someone else's build or 2) Listing only the strengths of the build. I would love to get a few responses here to help.
Thanks in advance.

u dont need speed attachments. u can do very well without them. if u cant how about u learn to play the profession a little more. work on ur skills at catching kiters. work on ur skills at hitting melee.
eventually ull get the hang of it and ull win. simple as that. anyways master brawler, master swords, some tka and/or fencer and novicemedic 1-0-0-0 is always a good bet.
mine aint nuthin like that tho hehe.
Master Brawler - I understand
Master Swordsman - A Given
Some Fencer - Can you expand a little on what parts of Fencer
Some Tera Kasi - See Fencer
What is the advantage or disadvantage of adding more stacking melee skills or adding the medic?
Fencer - Stances and grips line (really big bonuses to Melee and Ranged defence) and whichever line gives you the State defense bonuses - States can win or lose u a PvP battle imo.
TKA - Meditation line up Master Med - FoW and Powerboost are very handy, nice to be able to get up from incap straight away and scares the **** out of peeps who aren't expecting it from a Swordsperson
that's what i'd aim for i think if i wanted a pure PvP high defence build based around Swordsperson but i could be wrong - atm i'm pretty much PvE exclusively

If u wanne hunt jedis go for TKA...+62 Toughness as m-brawler/tka is the best armor u can get against lightsaber...if u have a healing body with u and not in the needs of any medicskills i would go for: m-brawler/tka/sword/fencer 0340 and pike 0040...
btw. Have u read this? http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=swordsman&message.id=38556
Strengths: Can heal states, poison, disease, fire. Massive mind damage when equipped properly.
Weaknesses: I'll get back to you when I find some.

Yep, but the ability to hit 3x faster with a Hammer doesn't hurt..
yep, but the ability to not hit a melee temploiter with ur 6 speed uber dmg hammer does hurt..
and citros snow cake wont really help. i dont fight without my oponent being intimidated and stunned btw.

yeah, ok. It makes life difficult. but what doesn't? the beauty of the SWG profession system is that you can customise, chop and change professions as much as u like, creating innumerable unique templates, depending on how much u want to study the profs/skillmods to find the best one.. The people who have taken the time to figure out what are the most effective combination of skills deserve to be able to wipe the floor with people who've just gone FoTM or whatever imo.
