Thread: I love SWORDSMAN! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I had done every combat class in the game but swordsman so I decided to do it last weekend. Masterd it sunday, last night went elder hunting... I love SOWRDSMAN! You read the fencer fourms they cry about not haveing good dmg and ap, TKA's cry about wanting more AP, Pike want more speed, pistol want duel weilding and more damage, carbines want more defence, rifle wants less ham costs. but all the swordsman talk about on the fourms is how many elders they soloed, I LOVE IT!

I went out with anothor swordsman last night and we found 4 elders only 2k away from the outpost, didn't even make to the strong hold, lol. Only looted Heavy Claps and 1 crappy crystal, but it doesn't really matter to me, I just enjoyed fighting them.

Best class in the game. Im happy to be in the club and i'll never quit.

You realize we are so screwed for the Combat Upgrade, right? All we do is say how much we love swords and, as they say, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

Yea I know, what I don't get is why do they need to balance anything. I've been every combat class, and I think its pretty balanced. I mean BH/pistol was a mean PVP, but sucked bad at PVE, likewise was fencer. Pike was decent at both with the right Pike. Carbines is also a good mix. There really isn't a class that you can choose in the game that can excel at everything. As far as I know they want to return the game to it's group and massive multiplayer roots with more group hunting by nerfing the ability to solo biggame. Im sure that by now most have figured out the game is more fun with other people anyways, I know I can solo an elder, but I'd rather tear it a new one with a group of 5 people then solo one. However, I have the option to go solo hunting. So all they are really doing is taking away the option to choose. I admit I am kinda nieve about what the CU is all about, but from my understanding its more of a combat nerf.

I don't understand why they don't just listen to the players. I mean, if we all are loving how much fun swords is, why do they want to change that? Thats not how to win over any gamers. Its kinda silly if you ask me. I would focus my efforts on fine tuning all the problems with th game, like broken mods, broken battle feilds, client crashes and such b4 I ever attempted to revamp a combat system thats close to being perfected already (IMO with my experiances).

What they should do is make it more clear on what each class excels in, then you wont have pistoleers crying that can't do the high damage, when the class is really intended for other purposes. People will choose the class that is good for they type of fighting style they use. I think we can all agree that the skill trees are very misleading as to what each class is capable of.

/agree. Options, I like the option to solo if I want. If they want group stuff make bigger and better rewards for grouping. Like special loot / rewards. Perfect example is the Village Phase 3 Combat Quest. You have the option to do that quest alone (Alone you get 1 power crystal), but if you do it with another person you get special rewards (Group you get Color Crystal + Mind buff crystal). Take that and tweak it to make sure everyone in the group gets the special reward instead of just two and there is your group incentive.


I had dozans of people asking me to group for that questand I was looking to group with someone for that reward.


Option + Reward,not Force + Nerf.

I agree forsure, thats a fantastic idea.

I also think that the loot system should be a random system that is player specific, so if you help kill an ackley, then everyone can loot it regardless or number of group members everyone has the chance to loot something, not just the person who does the most damage. So if five people kill it, then maybe 2 lucky people will get loot out of it. Sure it would flood market with more, loot, but I think that could bring market prices of loot down. Its not like everyone can just walk down there and kill it anyways. Your absolutly right tho, they shoudl encurage group hunting rather then force it.

I think as a collective, the gaming community has some amazing ideas and concepts on how to make the game better. The Devs seeem to be designing the game they way they want it to be rather then the way we would like to be be. Given its a hard choice because a lot of people have some rediculouse requests. I hardly see a need for Swordsman to have heavy AP for example, however I can see a need for pistoleers to have duel weilding weapons or BH to have some defences.

Its easy to get caught up in trying to make all the classes UBER, what we should do is think objectivly towards what we want, and be realaistic. Then the devs may listen to us.

I wish the devs would read this thread.

Ah man, another lame idea... TK has it's precise attacks, fencer has good defense, swords good power and pike good knockdowns. All 4 melee specialisation have their pros and cons, that's the beauty of chosing one. Is it fair that my friend took fencer and he has 3 times the melee defense that I have? well, maybe not it's not fair for him that I have weapons that reach 600 damage ... but that was our choice!


What they dont' seem to realize is that they are even. They are not the same but they are even. A fencer can take on 75 NPC's in the sennex cave at once without problems because they have lots of defence, but I can solo an elder. to each his own. When I take on 75 NPC's in the sennex cave, sure, I kill fast but i take a lot of damage at the same time. A fencer will do less damage but will also take less hits. It's all equivalent! Why change it!?
