Thread: Any advice guys?

I have just started my alt on the path towards Master Swordie, for the sole purpose of being able to solo Elders and Krayts (at least until the Combat Revamp takes effect ... and yes, allI will be doing with my alt up until the revamp is solo Elders, solo Elders, solo Elders ...).
My question is this :
Do I need a total melee stacked combat template (e.g. Master Sword, Master Brawler, Fencer 2420, TK 4003, Medic 2020) ?
Or is Master Sword/Master Doc perfectly adequate for NS Elders and Krayts ?
All advice, views, comments appreciated ...thanks in advance

I've never been MDoc/Swords but i have done a fairly well stacked Melee build, and managed Elders/Krayts easily. I am told you can do pretty well with Swords/Doc, and used to hunt with a Swords/Doc guildie, we made a very effective team The only thing you lack that mattersas Swords/Doc is state defenses, but you can heal them so it's not too big a deal Tradeoff really, do you want to be able to hunt anytime, anywhere, because you can buff yourself, or would you rather have better all round offensive skills (including wacry2/intim2 etc which are a big help for the types of long battles you're looking at)? Personally, I'd go with a defensively stacked template, but that's just me

Yes, the all-out combat template does appeal more to me ...

once you start fighting things above spellweavers... I don't think it matters how much melee/ranged defense you have. States are real important, but I think you could get along just fine with master swords, master brawler, fencer 0440, medic 2040, and dump the rest of the points into FS skills..
if all you want to do is crush skulls.. the above template will work real well and give you some nice state defenses.
personally I'm currently the above template, except 4440 fencer.. and I've come to realize that unless I'm spin attacking things in the DWB or low end night sisters.. the defense really doesn't help. If they want to hit you, they will.

Im Master Rifleman Master Swordsman 4440 in Medic and I usually dont have a problem with elders.

Well you can see in my sig what my profs are...i am speed capped on both prof. I take elders in 6 min or so solo...and i have 2340 medic to compliment it...full mind buffs, brandy, ahrisa, wafers(don't like synth due to the filling) and 90% comp...then all you have to worry about is the bleeds...if you get a nasty bleed...warcry over and over while peacing...then /firstaid...you will be fine.
