Thread: Can I get some advise?

well it finally happened to me.. a deep voice told me to Master Smuggler.

i am:

M2h

Mch

scout -4/0/4/1

medic -4/2/4/0

brawler -1/0/4/0

with 0/250 points

I need:

102 points if my math is right to get pistols and unarmed and then the smuggler tree.

I won't tell you my plan since I'd like getting advice rather than first suggesting how I'd like to be advised. If any of you have had similar skills and/or had to give up any of these ie: been faced with such choices... what did you do? .. I'm not so good at calculating all the boxes and choices so please help!

thanks in advance..

oh.. as for giving up Swordsman.. that certainly is not out of the question for me since I plan on wielding a Light Sword anyway... who wouldn't give up a power hammer for a light sabre?

Well...i'm not so good with those calculations either if not having a skill calculator in front of me...

but i would get rid of other professions in the following order:

medic: as you don't seem to craft your packs yourself, i would get rid of all the other branches but the one that increases your medic use stats

scout: get rid of all the other branches but the one which increases your field negotiation stats (getting back to normal running speed is a real pain)

Those measures probably won't be enough to free the necessary skillpoints.

I guess at that point you will have to ask yourself which "protection" you are willing to give up: your creatures or your medic skills.

medic: as far as i remember you can only use stim B's with the skills you have...if that's the case i don't perceive them as powerful enough to work efficiently as protection

creature handler: you can work yourself down to 3,2,0,0 and can still use rather strong pets (this assumption might be wrong in the light of upcoming updates, but sue me, i didn't really have the time recently to check out what exactly is going to change for ch's)

Don't expect me to tell yougiving up swordsman

thanks!

that puts things in perspective. I need to keep scout explore and hunting as its part of CH.. can't be dropped.

I only need one pet and thats either Rancor (50) or better yet a Toxic Battlelord which is only level 45.

is there a skill calculator site ? I've heard of them but never bothered to keep record.

I don't wish to give up 2H but then.. like I said I picked it initially because I liked the idea of wielding and seeing that Jedi Clip is a swordsman's dream.. er mine anyway.

I guess what I was asking .. now that I am digesting this whole thing is in what order can I climb down and up the ladder in increments to be as powerful (offensive and defensive)most efficiently and since I have little experience with pistols or guns in general I was hoping someone with that experience might help me out.

But the post has only been looked at a few times.. everyone is out hunting or out hunting

thanks G

I know this is off topic.. but please don't assume that everyone wants to be a jedi.

I'd much rather be wielding a hammer than a crappy flashlight.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but someone has to do it.

To keep Master HS and get master smuggler leaves you with 52 points, keep novice CH leaves you with 3 points, not enough for a single box of ch and no medic skills.

Depending on your play style and a desire to keep master 2hsI would recommend the following.

Solo: Master Brawler, Master Heavy Sword, Novice Medic 3 pts left. Get a rock beetle or mountain kreevol to keep other mobs busy while you dish out the pain.

Group: Master HS, Master Smuggler,Novice Scout w/ exp 4 and Novice Medic 3 pts left. last points could be put into first aid one or ranged support 1

Dont drop CH until last if you need to at all. Pistol xp comes in buckets on Dantooine with creatures it might even be worth getting Novice pistoleer temporarily for Health2 to stack with Pistol Healthshot1. That will speed things up a bit.

Basically hunt hurton stalkers/matron/howlers etc

oh and drop medic to 2|0|3|0 so you can use Stim C's or 2|0|2|0 if you have decent B's. You also keep firstaid. You can drop down CH to 3|2|1|1 and use 1 CL34 pet like a Mauler. Its really the damage you do that adds up not the pets, they are just meat shields as Im sure you know anyway. I hunt fine on Dantooine myself now with 1 Mauler when I dropped from MCH.

thanks for the advice!

here's where I'm at :

I decided since I almost had medic mastered that I wouldfinish it.. i did. Then I figured since my friend Sharc (and some of you) are M2H/MasterDoc and praise it so.. that I may as well finish the Doc tree. I am in the process of dropping CH (down from MCH to 0/0/1/1) and getting Doc. Then I hope that I will be powerful enough to get another holo to find out what I have to do next. Since I know I have to do smuggler and I don't feel (from what I hear) Master Smuggler can kill mysitcs and the like I may as well wait to fill that after I have my second holo. Then I will have done MB, M2H, MM, MD, MCH, MS at which point I'll probably need to get ID or MC

Its really really hard to give up M2H. Although its debateable how good it is in PvP... with a supporting skill (Mch or Doc) its pretty much top dog.

Again my point of posting here wasn't to start a jedi/holo thread but to elicit advise from those I trust the most and perhaps some of you who may have done pistol/smuggler type professions.

thanks again... stayed tuned
