Hey Hey folks. Well my new character is almost ready to begin his elite professions, and Ive chosen to live by the sword, hehe. Im planning to master Swordsman and Fencer, however, Im a little worried about Swordsman. The reason Im worried is I chose swordsman to be...well, a swordsman, and yet the top end weapon cert is.....power hammer? Other than the fact Im surpised games workshop hasnt sued the pants off SOE yet(hehe), Im dissapointed.

Is it possible for me too be as effective as someone wielding a power hammer while using one of the bigger swords? Or do I have too choose between roleplaying and ability(which I bloody hate doing, there should be more than one top end weapon to give players more choice).

You'll be singing a different tune when you hit people in the head with a power hammer. In PvE you'll be taking down ancient bull rancors in 4 or 5 hits. PvP you do unhealable damage, sometimes in mass quantities.

I dont care. Im a roleplayer, my character is starting a PA totally based around being a SWORDSman, now a POWERHAMMERman. I just want too know how big a disadvantage Im going to be facing in combat as opposed to a powerhammer user?

Cleaver in PvP. PH does crap damage to a guy with lvl 3 melee mitigation.

And I still use the Cleaver in PvE. Its a good middle ground of high minimum damage, good max damage, and speed.

Meh... With rancor teeth and a perfect slice you could probably get a 350+ damage curved sword. The HAM's, accuracy mods, and speed would all be poo. It's a trade-off.

if you get a good 2hand curved like i have...you will hardly ever use a powerhammer. Its faster...it hits for 400 damage at 2.5 with a powerup and its a little bit easier on the eye than a powerhammer
