Thread: two-handed speed, hows that work?
can someone please explain the math or function behind the 'speed' bonuses you get generaly and with the technique path?
techniques 2 = speed +15
what does this actually do? i can find no written evidence that my sword has actually gotten faster.
once i max out on speed, is the speed of my sword redundant? is there any difference then between a 2.0 sword and a 3.0 sword?
i dont get it.
its 15 percent of the speed of your weapon.
at master you have 80 percent of the speed of you weapon chewed off.
so with a 2.0 speed sword at master (80% speed reduction) your saying that my sword speed will in fact be:
(2/100)x20 = 0.4! i'll hit with a sword every 0.4 seconds?
that sounds a trifle tasty
So you'll only ever swing at 1 second intervals.
Your actual weapon speed is a function of:
1. The sum of all your melee speed modifiers (including from brawler)
2. The speed of the weapon
3. The time delay modifier for the special (if any)you use.
The formula looks like this:
ws * [td *] ((100 - ys) * .01) = actual speed
where
ws = weapon speed
td = time delay of the special (if using a special)
ys = the sum of all your melee weapon speed modifiers (including from brawler)
So if you havea total speed modifier of 80 and are using a 5.4 speed Powerhammer, your normal attack attack speed (i.e., no special) is:
5.4 * ((100 - 80) * .01 = 5.4 * (20 * .01) = 5.4 * .20 = 1.08 sec.
If you use a special with a time delay of 2.0 seconds, it would be:
5.4 * 2.0 * ((100 - 80) * .01 = 5.4 * 2.0 * .20 = 2.16 sec.
