with master+mbrawler is 80, now if i get enough tapes and plates to add another 15 itd make 95.. would that take me to max?

you need master brawler to break the 1.4 speed cap of master swords.

you need master brawler to be a good swordsman imo

With a 5.4 hammer, melee speed +93 is enough to hit the speed limit.

I have a speed sliced 3.8 speed hammer and swing it fairly fast, but it's still not even close to the speed of my curved blade which I have speed capped via slice/skill. to be honest, once I hit master I moved to a 32% damage sliced hammer with 5.4 speed and let the suckers bleed while saving my HAM.

you won't get to the speed cap, not with specials anyway. If you want to cap at one to one, get a hammer sliced for speed.

Adapted fromthe Rifleman boards with special thanks to WayneInAustin:

The formula is:

ws* [td *] ((100 - ys) * .01) = actual speed

where

ws = weapon speed

td = time delay modifier of a special used (not included if using a normal attack)

ys = your speed modifier

So if I have a melee speed modifier of 80 and I am using a PH with speed of 5.4, then my normal attack speed would be:

5.4 * ((100 - 80) * .01) = 5.4 * (20 * .01) = 5.4 * .20 = 1.08

This is a normal attack, so there is no special time delay modifer. But using a special with a time modifer of 2.0, it would be:

5.4 * 2.0 * (100 - 80) * .01) = 2.16

To calculate the weapon speed I would need to have to fire a particular attack at 1 second, I would use the following formula:

1 /(((100 - ys) * .01) [ * td ] ) = weapons speed needed for a 1 second attack

Again,for a normal attack and a personal speed modifier of 80:

1 / ((100 - 80) * .01) = 5

Any weapon with a speed of 5 or less will hit at 1 second per hit.

If I use the same special with a 2 second time delay, it would look like this:

1 / (((100 - 80) * .01) * 2.0) = 2.5

So if I get my weapon to 2.5 speed and have a personal melee speed of 80, I can hit at 1 hit per second with a special with a time delay of 2.0 seconds.

yes according to his formula with a special attack delay of 2 seconds you will cap if you had 95 speed.

Is the speed cap for swords 1.4 seconds or 1 secondlike it is for ranged weapons?
