At master swordsman, without master brawler or speed tapes, a speed sliced scythe will do more damage per second. However the difference won't be by much. I personally like damage slices, since I plan on getting at least 90+ speed(well i hope to). Plus damage sliced scythes won't decay as fast as speed sliced ones, which means alot since you don't find 92max damage sword cores every day

It depeneds on the scythe to be honest, if made from the best materials, exceptional sword coreswith a really good - to speed on them then you want a damage slice.
All of my scythes were 2.6 speed 338 max before sliced, all using exception cores, and all sliced at 27, 28, 29% respectively. Giving me 3 scythes over 400 max damage at a speed of 2.6. If you have a scythe that has a base speed of under 2.8 pray for damage, 3.2 or higher pray for speed, if it is right in the middle either one is fairly negligible.

You max without speed modifiers (other than what you have as a MHS) with a weapon at 2.1. So, I'd say that both damage and speed slices for now have about the same effect.

I have a speed sliced Scythe it's 175/333 spd is 1.9 and I'm perfectly happy with it. I really think once you reach Master it doest matter about a few points here and there, as you can pretty much solo anything, anywhere whether using damage or speed sliced scythe.

What is the general consensus is for this scenario. I've searched, read the FAQ, some other threads, haven't really found much. All I've seen is that speed slice sells more than dam sliced? Fluke? Truth?
Thanks
