For grinding its the 2-handed curved sword. When you reach 0003 then a Scythe would be best.

yep 2 handed curvedtill u get expert finesse, switch to scythe then the highest dmg hammer u can get at master reccomend acklay bone with good dmg slice.

It really depends on your own preferances. While grinding i found something with a fast attack and decent damage worked well for me. I used a 2 handed cleaver sliced for speed. Reason i liked this wepon was it reasonably fast 2.6 and had +11 for the attack mods which when you are leveling comes in handy b/c your accuracy isn't the best. I perfer wepons with closer min-max damage ranges. Sureyou can get a 2handed curved swords up to over 300 dam but generally the low damage range is below 50! It's great when you hit with the high end of your damage but sucks when you hit the bottom.
As a master i use both my scythe(love the thing) and my power hammer. I switch frequently depending on the resists of what i'm fighting.
Best advice, shop around to find what's the best of each type of wepon on your server, buy them all(melee wepons are generally cheep, with the exeption of the scythe) and use them all till you find your favored.
