It started with a half assed decision to go to Korvella and get a ticket to run one of the Rebel missions on the Corvette. I had just finsihed running solo missions on Dant. for cash and had stopped because my Mind buffs were long gone.

The thought was: I would grab a second mind buff as I left the Mining outpost that would last as long as my Doc buffs BUT in RL I was very tired so I forgot to go to the Cantina before I hit the Starport.

"Ah, F* it" I said to myself. I still had a Brandy with 15 or so charges left- that oughta be enough to knock heads with some NPCs if the need arises.

Once in Kor Vella, I spoke to the Sgt. and took a mission that would point me in the direction of the Imperial Base on Lok. This all went smoothly until:

Storm Trooper: Halt! So you may be inspected for contrabrand!

Now, you'll note in the sig that I'm a smuggler, so my inventory is LOADED with contrabrand- tools, weapons, spices, armor- everything really.

Me: (still running) RL thought to self: Man, F* that trooper! I'm gonna just catch a flight outta here so's I can get to bed.

ST: HALT! Or I'll Fire!

Suddenly, All these Imps are shooting at me. It's a sight I'm used to though- being in the line of fire from 5-6 very unhappy NPCs (paticularly Imperial ones). I don't usually PvP anymore because of the state of the game and I never really had a character for it. And there was another reason...what was it?...OH YEAH, I suck at it!!

I killed the last one as I was purchasing my ticket out and the next thing I know I'm in Mos Eisley and then a short time later the Nym's Outpost on Lok.

Again, I am tired- so when I pick a player city to shuttle to (so that I don't have as far to drive to get to the Imp base) I actually don't pick the one that is the closest but close enough.

Now, when that load screen comes up that is a sign for me to go to the bathroom in RL, like it is for a lot of you I'm sure.

So, I'm coming out of the bathroom when what do I hear blasting from the computer? That's right- FIGHT MUSIC!!

"OH S**T!" I run to the comp to find, sure enough, Tevin has gotten himself in a pickle. There's this dude beating on me and I'm auto fighting back.

For a split second I wonder why the hell I'm getting attacked as I load in- but this is a player city so things can spawn anywhere.

Quickly I start to throw in some moves- I noticed that this NPCs mind was HUGE compared to the Health and Action. so I use Hit 3 a couple of times.

That's when it happens: This NPC healed himself 2 times real quick.

Then it hit me-"NPCs don't heal themselves like that! THIS IS A REAL PERSON!!!

It was about that time that another person started to beating on me- Another REAL person! What the hell had I gotten my self into? Now I was waking up and taking into account my circumstances- I looked around the screen and red dots were EVERYWHERE. Most of them were in buildings and gathered together in such a way that I figured they were NPCs.

But the two red dots beating on me were definitely NOT- as they were telling me I needed to leave this city 'cause I was a rebel.

A message flashed across the screen stating I had been BANNED from this city and none of its services would work for me- that meant trying to shuttle right back out of here was out of the question.

"This is the longest TEF I've ever had!" I thought.
My combat screen was scrolling up almost as fast as my MIND was falling- It was the only thing that wasn't buffed.

"BRANDY!" I opened my inventory- blocking a majority of the fight scene.
"Where is it!? Where!!?"
I threw a couple more HIT 3s (not too many because I didn't want drinking brandy to fall too late in the action cue.
"FOUND IT!" I took two gulps and now I had a second to think.

As a Swordsman, you decide on one of two things in PvE encounters where there are more than one person beating on you:

Am I going to work them down one at a time with a focused attack on their minds or am I going to Area Attack them all and watch them fall about the same time?

But this was different. These were two thinking individuals and I had to make my decision quick- keeping in mind, I most likely had a base full of NPCs to deal with afterwards.

I decided to drop a bleed on the cat with the mind buff since he seemed to be some kind of Doc or Medic- those heals had to stop. Then I intimidated him (I wear a +17 Intimidation undershirt) and I spammed head hit 3. He went down pretty quick after that.

I turned to the other character- A chick who I couldn't tell if she was buffed or not as I already knew what I wanted to do.

I dropped a bleed on her, COBed, intimidated, and commenced to head hit her too.

As all of this was playing out in the cue I was trying to type out /deathblow to make sure the other guy stayed down (I never PvP so it's wasn't on my toolbar). But I kept messing up-

The chick went down and he stood up again- That was a short incap- but I had no time to think about it. I hit enter and got 120 faction points for DBing the chick. I don't think I finished typing the command but whatever I had in there was good enough.

I decided to hightail it at that point- I went to pull my vehicle but accidentally destroyed it (this is why I don't PvP) so I started to run between the area where all the Stormtrooper NPCs were. The dude didn't follow- I guess because his mind had to be shot to s**t and it had to be obvious I went there by mistake.

A short battle with the NPCs and I finally jumped on my trusty, non-destructive Kaadu and rode outta there.

The ticket for the Corvette will wait- but I AM very tempted to try PvP again. I will have to get my tool bar in order first though:smileygrin:

hahahahaahaahha! hilarious, this was definately my favorite part!

mind if i ask what your professions are, what theirs were, and if you have any speed attachments? i'm interested in PvP'ing but always thought that at 75 speed i'd be swinging my hammer too slow.

Well, I'm a Master Swordsman. I got Smuggler 0 4 3 1. Medic 0 0 3 0 and Novice Pistoleer.
The only other PvP experiences I ever had were me getting ganked when I was at the bank while overt or while waiting at the ticket handler in the Starport so this was nice.

I'm going to try a little more PvP after I get Tevin where I want him which is:

Master Swords/Master Smuggler/TKA 4 0 0 0/Pistoleer 0 0 3 4.

Which may change a bit if I decide to go FS. I also debated mastering brawler but lately I think my pistol skills need to be backed up a little more. Either that or pick more medic back up- Healing in a fight is VERY valuable but I didn't use it in this last fight.

hehe excellent encounter, fantastic story.. congratulations! PvP is something (like a lot of swordspeople) i've not gone into too much but have started to dabble of late and have found it a lot of fun... so maybe it's getting that way or it will be... until i run into that guy on my server with the 2k max dmg 2.2spd PH with the 600 tick mindpoison.... that might not be so fun.....
