Crap, sorry!
This is my first post on the Swordsman Forum as I just dropped BH yesterday. So far I have 3 3 2 2 Brawler and was wondering about some things. I either want to be a Swordsman or a Pikeman. I know that Swordsmen can hit the mind pool and this is very cool. I have also heard that Swordsmen isn't a PVP class. Pikeman sounds like a lot of fun as well but I would like to know the pluses and minues before I chose. I have a template that involves all of the Melee classes that I like very well. It requires me to master either Pikeman or Swordsman.

So basically I would like to know if Swordsmen can hold it's own in PVE/PVP and if the Mind damage/bleed is all it's hyped up to be.

Oh, I would also like to know if defenses stack.(I've never experienced defenses thanks to Bounty Hunter, Bah!)

Well here is the template I might go for but first I need to know if defenses stack.

Master Brawler
Master Pikeman
Fencer 4 4 3
Swordsman 3 0 4 0
TKA 0 3 0 4

I could also get Master Swordsman and not Pikeman. From what I've seen on the Character Builder Pikeman has more defenses. I am posting this here because this is the most populated Melee Forum hehe. Tell me what ya think of this and if defenses stack, thanks!

Seroiusly, pikeman has some big problems... you should replace it withmasterswordsman.

Swordsman is the class that you should pick. Pikeman is the most broken combat class in the game. The accuracyand ham costs are horrible. Swordsmen are very good in PvP if they have master brawler. I killed a master bhand an uberfencer type by landing lunge 2 (20 meter knockdown) , then warcry 2(20 second delay), andfinally a fewtwo-hand head hit 3's. The defense mod of counter attack stacks with carbineer. If you wear good ubese armor and use warcry 2 and intimidate 2, you can tank a canyon krayt dragon all day.

Oops, I posted with my alt character's screen name. As for the mind damage bleed, it is very powerful. The only bleed in the game that does more damage is the flame dot. Commandos would get pounded by meleers. I had master ch with flame 4 and now I have master ch/master swordsman/master brawler. The sword melee defense is so much better. Sure, you would do slightly more damage as a commando. However, you would not live to collect the loot like a swordsman would.

Pikeman is still a fun class. Be aware that though you have a lot of melee you have no ranged mitigation. If you're going pikeman take master brawler, 4/0/04 tka, 4/4 fencer and trickshot line of pistol so you get more resists as well as ranged mitigation2.
