Thread: Swordsman and Bounty Hunter?!?!?

Hello All,

Good morning Ladies and Gentleman, I have a question for you to pervue and hopefully reply to. During the blasphemous Holo-Grind that seemed to draw a vast number of people into it, myself included, I gave up my Swords to persue the Grind. Noticing that a good number of people unlocked when they did Bounty Hunter, I decided to take up that profession after my last Holocron was silent. After nearly a two month break, I am still working on finishing Bounty Hunter. I don't care about unlocking anymore, I just want the badge and the status. I am finding that I like the challenge and content involved with Bounty Hunter, but I sorely miss using my Scythe and Cleaver. Thanks to the recent change in the Bounty Hunter pre-requisets (spelling?), I can now do that.

What do you guys think of the template: Master Swordsman and Bounty Hunter 4/0/4/4?

I know this template is mainly good for PvE, but that is ok, for I mainly just do PvE. I'm fairly sure I'll do alright when faced with PvP, as long as I remember to use Torso Shot and Eye Shotwhen they are in medium-range, Intimidate themthen andwail on them with Mind Hit, Head Hit and Two-Hand Hit. I'll also blast them with Lightning Single 2 should they bolt . . . anyway, enough of my blabbing. Thank you for your time in reading my posting, any advice is welcome.

I am bh 4400 pistoleer 0040 master sword and love it. It have the def I need from pistoleer, with one ithorian mist I am very hard to dizzy, and cob gets me up when I am. Also, if they are suseptible ot ranged kd/dizzy, they are mine. While on thier back I warcry them, cob, switch weapons, hit them a few times, then start the intimidates all in a macro. I have +10 2 hand speed which helps with the dmg sliced scythe, and I have a sturdy ph to nail the ones with low defences.

It isn't like when I was a def stacker, but it does get the job done, this is what I use the fight jedi. Haven't tried it too much, cuz I don't really find the game all that much fun, but it does work well when I do. good luck out there

Very good points. I would be an offensive juggernaut, but the lack of defensive in that template is another kink thats just keeping me from doing it. The other template I am toying around with is somewhat similiar, but it does have better defenses while keeping a very high offensive rating.

Second Template: Master Swordsman, Teras Kasi Artist 4/3/0/4, Commando 0/0/4/0

Guildmate of mine quoted that one as being called a "Turret Killer". Give that template the right mixture of foods, drinks, spices, and armor, and I'd imagine I'd be set. Its another great PvE type, but I'm not really sure how a flamethrower/sword combo will stack up against a PvPer.

This template would left u with -2 SP....Thats not possibile....

btw. BH 3040/pistoleer 0040 and master swords gives imo some better options...cause u have some nice pistol specials from the bh-tree like eye and torso shot...leaves u withnext to nothing melee/ranged defense but both migrations at +3 and some ok def. vs. stats....if u wanne hunt down jedis switch swords to tka...havin +57 toughness is the best armor against lightsaber u can get by now...

Mastered Professions so far: * Brawler *TKA * Fencer * Swordsman * Pikeman * Marksman * Rifleman * Scout * Creature Handler * Medic

I too was a BH. It was back before I went Swordsman (which I am now) towards the end of the hologrind. I was guessing my silent, and did BH mostly because I thought it would be fun. I was right to an extent (once you get past all the tedious and bugged Investigation missions). The template you suggest is interesting indeed. You would be a horse offensively, but the lack of defense is the biggest weakness of both the BH and the Swordsman. Melee, Ranged, and State defenses are all too low in order to be able to solo any high end MOBs and NPC's, especially without Medic skills. I wouldn't even try PvP, your only prayer would be to land a FireKnockDown and hope that you can LightningSingle2 him to death before he gets up.

However, I think this template would do well in a group, especially if you have a tank. Personally I don't like to mix Melee and Ranged professions, unless you're doing it mainly for defense stacking. An example of this would be Master Pistoleer / Brawler / Fencer with some Medic, which gives you really good defense states, you're capped at melee defense, and ranged defense is respectable. Besides, your Dodge mod would be way up there as well.

Just my thoughts, hope it helps!

ok, mr math man... it is bh 3400... sorry... I didn't want pistols cuz most of the jedi I saw fight blocked close to all of the ranged shots anyhow, and used saber throw, so you can't really kite all that well. Also, I get some counter attack while holding my carbine, which is great. I would to TK, but everyone and thier momma is tk, so I hate tk lol.

Though I did like being a TKM, master sword/brawler as one of my templates why back in the day. The other melee weapon I thought of was pike, for the stun/dizzy/kd/posture change that can be done in close range all with the sae weapon, negating the 3 sec delay I get from switching. If I get my hands on a strong enough pike, I may do that. I think I have enough pike tapes to cap on speed as it is at master. But they have the lowest melee thoughness.

Oh, and the strength of tk has always been the easy they get dizzy/kd/posture change. Toughness is nice, but the person on thier back is better. Plus with all the food out there, toughness is not a big thing. Especially since us swordsmen get SLIGHTLY less toughness than them percentage wise. The main difference is that thier dizzy/kd sticks a lot easier than our dizzy/posture change. Put a person that is immune to dizzy kd against a tkm and the tkm will have a lot of trouble unless they have other skills to fall back on... or the other guy is a defence stacked master weaponsmith, then the tkm might not be in such bad shape.
