Phew that's reassuring to know - didn't want to see pistoleers doing stopping shot with a rocket launcher - lol

they can still do that... but they need to be a Commando/Pistoleer to be able to . I'm glad though that Commando weapons will only be for commandos to use. also glad that we will be the only ones to use the Power hammer/Scythe/Sith Sword(at least i hope thoughs will be the ones that wont be certed for other professions.)

weapon certs are changing. on testCU now anyone can use any weapon as long as they have a high enough combat level. this is a bug.

as of right now the plan is for there to be 2 ways to cert for weapons. through normal skill box certs and also through combat level. most weapons will still fall under the skill box cert. the bug is that only combat level is being viewed right now.

hopefully it will work out that our 'classic' weapons will remain only ours. we shouldnt see commandos running around with a power hammer.

things keep changing, so we shall see. but it is not intended for everyone to be able to use any weapon they want.

Wait...if a pistol/commando can use pistol specials with a rocket launcher then can a pike use swords specials with swords/pike?

Hey whats up Dark. I know I had seen you someplace befreo. I was talking to you in Theed yesterday and you were showiing me the Sith Sword.


Anyway I got Master Brawler Master Sowrdsman last nite. Gonna add Master Pikeman to the templete. I wanna do some realally serious number crunching tonight on our moves. Maybe youll be on and we can hook up. From what I see so far tho is that either the specials are not working as intended. No multiplers beind added. Or that is the way it is suppose to be. Seems with any attack that I do it is the same dmg. And never above the max of the weapon equipped.

yes, haven't you noticed. any melee prof can use any melee attack special, any range prof can use any range attack special. as long as you have that box trained.

ya sup man and congrates. i'm currently lvl 80 from mastering fencer/swords. just to check it out. my end temp will be pike/swords. but atm as i have noticed our damage can not be as intended cuz we currently do the same amount of damage as my fencer spiecals. and atm power attack is the worst attack we have and it has a wind up on it.

also we are missing a few skills from our master lvl box. like we no longer have advanced sword furry and advanced berserk in the master lvl box. hopefully this will get fixed soon. it is really annoying.

also the weapons can not be right since ALL the master lvl swords have the same DPS. they are all on place holder stats.

Im pretty sure that weapons and high level skills are not balanced yet. they want to get everything working first, then its fairly simple to change a few numbers here and there.

ya what i thought. still can't tell what the CU holds for swordsmen untill later on in the testing :/.

but as i said i like the specials that we get but atm they do not work

From the point of view of someone who works for software company, even this stuff should have been 90% done in Alpha - Public Beta is usually to iron out kinks and test stability of a product, it's not suprising that people are wigging out about what they are seeing in CU. I must admit that I am concerned that SOE are indeed rushing the CU to get it out in conjunction with Episode III despite all their talk of not releasing it until it is done right. We can only hope for accellerated changes over the next few weeks and cling to the hope that many things will indeed continue to change for the better.
