Thread: Swordsman PvP Testing

Okay So far out of my PvP test in Test i have gotton really good results as being a Swordsman. PvP in teh CU is alot more interactive and fun then what it currently is on Live. however it is a little buggy. liek both you and your opponets hams jump all over the place becuase it is putting the amount of damage you do then it heals you for what the armor blocked. it is really odd looking. it is really lagged out. There are also a few other problems that are there which i think needs to get fixed before going live.
First My temp is Master Swords/Pike/Brawler Tka 4200 fencer 0003. I faced a few diffrent professions and won all the duels. Faced one Melee which was the closest duel i had he was using a fencer weapon so i think he was a master fencer/swords and dabbled in TKA.
I also faced a Few range professions two were pistol and one carbine i believe. these were pretty much one sided as i just dominated them and i barely got touched.
I did not however face a TKM wasn't one to test but i think it would be a close duel if i did as well.
But if you know what you are doing in PvP now you could wuite possibly come out on top now in PvP. Remember PvPing as a swordsmen Armor break and Berserk are your friend. and if you dabbled like i did teh bleed is nice to have but not nessicary in pvp from the fencer. from the TKA power boost is a must have now apparently it boosts all your stats by 500 points. which to me is a bit extram. Also from the TKA line that is nice to have is the COB enhancer. it lasts longer then the normal COB and it raises it by 250 points. so it lasts i think for 40s and gives a +400 in melee defence. From pike Intimidate and stun attack are really nice to use. Also warcry to give you that extra second you need for your med pack to be used again or just to take a break from damage a second.
as i have seen it i dropped medic out of my profession list because it was not nessissary to have. It wastes to much action points and takes to long to pull off. by the time you finished healing yourself you just lost more then you just healed for.
Also no matter how much i like the PvP atm I jsut wish the damage was tonned down again. like to 50% instead of 40% reduction which it is right now. And fix that annoying ham jumping bug. if this is done then PvP i think would be alot better. but so far i have had more fun PvP on test then i have ever PvPing on Live. Expecally without jedi and CM's running around every where and also having a mind pool that i could not heal. And having dot weapons destroy my HAM.
However the CU is not perfect there are still alot of problems i see for it. One In PvP yes our damage ratio is just right however in PvE the damage we do is no where marked in the heavy damage catagory. However there is still time left and alot can still change. we will see what will happen at the end of testing. But PvP i feel is balanced but range will have to now get used to fighting under the new system. Like the people that i fought i do not believe were using their abilities to there full effect. but if they do a range user could definetly come out on top if they play it smart. This new PvP system is more based on ones skill with their profession rather then which profession is the best.

Thanks for all of your feedback it really does sound very interesting and puts my mind to rest a little that swordsmen aren't automatically blaster fodder on the PVP field although I do still wonder how a swordsman is supposed to deal with a kiting carbineer 50m away.
And as you commented it still seems that the damage dealing part of our profession is still way out of context with low damage and not even certified to use assault armor when our entire profession is based around...well...assault.

I did a bunch of Testing PvP now also
template ,,, Master Swords//Master Pike//Master brawler and medi 4-0-4-0 just to test
I Dueled the following and outcomes
MAster Rifle//other range combo--- won easily burst run and KD and head hit,,, intim also,,, very fast
Master TKA and other proff dabbler-- good duel best one so far but won also without much threat
CM//pistols --- beat easily like 4 times he kept wanting rematch
Bounty hunter//pistoleer --- wow stopping shot is nuts,, it roots you to the ground so you cant move for a few seconds but i beat this guy lke 3 times also,,, very good fights
so I am like 11-0 right now using swords and pike skills but mainly swords and a PH,,, all testing done with my Power hammer
lots of fun actually I am realyl enjoying this new system,, so many choices during combat if you try to spam one attack and not react to opponent you will lose

ya i'm 5-0 right now. Was using the Power Hammer. They Were interesting fights.
however the reason i think duels VS range is so easy is because of the PSG's. i think they woudl be closer fights if they were ether toned down a bit or made a melee version that protects against kinetic damage or something. but they definently need to change to balance it out.
