Let's be honest, a lot of us are Master Swordsmen because we like to do things solo. Elders, Krayts, whatever. We like being solo because we are independent types, all of our other friends have quit, or if you are like me, you don't like sharing with the other children on the playground.


The Phase III Melee Accuracy quest is designed to be very difficult, and it is. When the captian says find a friend to help, what he really means is find a PA to help. However, it is soloable. Here is how I did it, from talking to the captain, to getting my teal crystal (you won't get the blue mind crystal unless you have a companion).


1. You need to be force sensitive (Du).Talk to Captain Sarguillo at the village. He tells you you need to get some frequency discs so that he can make remote devices for the shield, and that one person will need to power down the shield, and kill 5 thugs. The other person will need to bring the captain all the way back to the village. If you ask him about powering down the shield, you can do both parts.


2. Now you need somefrequency discs. Zapper_Weisman has put together a list of most of the bases on most of the servers. Go to one of these bases, and start murdering sith. Around every base there is a pocket of "wild" sith. Wild because they are not tied to bringing down the shield and because their location in relation to the base will shift. Locate the base, then fly around it.Eventually, you will locate one of these pockets. In it will be between 4 and 12 (maybe even more) sith. Sith Shadows, Pirates and Thugs. Be careful though, when they shoot, they are badass. As in 3500 through armor badass. I went to the cloner because i thought "I'm a speed capped Swordsman, what can the Sith do to me?" The key to killing them is to take them one or two at a time.


Bike Pulling Technique: Get on your bike, and get about 80m away from the clump. Make sure you have a mount and dismount hotkey on your UI. Ride up to them untill they agro you. If you have talked to the Captain, they will agro you at 64-50m. Otherwise, they won't agro you at all. Once you are agroed, immediately turn around and ride away. Hopefully some (or all) will follow you. Soon the sith will loose interest and turn back. Keep doubling back and re-pulling them. If you have ever done this to pull an elder, it is the exact same concept. Warning: You need to pull your target sith at least 64m away fromhis or her(their) friends, or you will have shooting sith, and that is bad.


Fighting Sith: Thugs are badass, have 75% and 80% med armor to kinetic and blast respectively, and have 40-50k HAM. Pirates and Outlaws are pretty wimpy when in melee. The basic goal is to get all the Sith into melee with you. If they are shooting, they are dangerous.If they are in melee, they are pretty tame. Once you have your target Sith separated, double back, and zoom him with your speeder. Remember episode I where Darth Maul hops off his speeder and attacks the Jedi? You are going to recreate that. By zooming in, you are cutting the time that they will shoot at you. If there is only 1, Mindhit3. If there are 2 or more, use your area attack of choice. The Sith might be a little spread out, so what you need to do is chase each down while spamming your area attack. What will happen is as you run through the sith, you will attack them, making them go to melee weapons. This is the Pied Piper part, where you run through them and pick up a following. It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that you get them all into melee with you. The difference is 20-30 damage vs 100-300 damage per hit.


When i was gathering discs, I found that as long as there was no Thug in the group, I could take down 5 or 6 sith at a time (probably more, but that is usually about how many I would end up fighting). If there was a Thug, I could handle 2 additional Sith as long as i quickly got them into melee. Same Darth Maul technique, but this time, you open up with 2 intimidates on the Thug, then area attack untill the two weaker Sith are killed. Then you give the Thug a working over with headhit3.


*Note* It is important that you practice your pulling technique here. Even if you already have some discs or remotes. Outlaws and Pirates do little enough damage to allow you to practice and try new things. Thugs, on the other hand, allow little room for error. If you don't get the technique down now, you will find yourself in coronet getting re-buffed, wondering how Sith Thugs can fanshot for 3500 without your armor stoping any of the damage (the line was long, so i had quite a while to look at the combat spam wondering that exact question).


3. So now you have heaps of discs. Off to the Captain you go. Click on him and there will be an option to get the discs turned into remote devices (hereafter called GDO for Garage Door Openers). Turn ALL of your discs in.


4.Consult your galaxy's list of bases and select the closest 3 bases. *IMPORTANT NOTE* Base names change, but their locations do not. This may happen every time someone completes the quest from that base (that is the rumor I heard). Just because a base is named "Alpha" on the list, and you don't have an alpha GDOs does not mean you shouldn't go to it. It has probably changed since the post was made.


5. Go to your first base. Outside should be some surveillance droids. My base's surveillance droids were marked "Xi Surveillance Droid". This means that you are at the Xi base (it was called Alpha Base on the listing). It is a good idea to get a general picture of the surrounding terrain as well as any hostile spawns that may surround the base. Check your GDO's and see if you have one that matches the droids. If not, go to the second closest base and repeat.


6. *BEEP* Save your game (Some say saving your game, then restoring is an exploit, but i don't think theCSR's ban for it ), then get on your bike. Drive up to the edge of the shield and hit the button (about 30m away from the turrets). You will need to open your inventory, right click the GDO, and select the "Use Remote Divice (Option 3, i think that is what it is called)." Be aware that while you are doing this, the two turrets will be shooting you. They hit for 100-300 damage. You now have 1 hour to get the commander back to the village. As soon as the field goes down, move in and take out the turrets. They have no armor, and 10k hitpoints. I have heard that pets can attack the turrets before the shield goes down. This might be a handy trick if true.If you are doing the turrets yourself (like a realSwordsman does) itneeds to be done VERY quickly. You have about 10-20 seconds to do this. A group of 6-12 Sith Thugs will spawn about 60m away from the gate, and start coming at you. I highly advise taking some synth-steak before or right as these Sith spawn (if you do it right as they spawn, you won't have charges lost due to the turrets shooting at you). The second the Sith show up, you need to get out of Dodge. If your bike is close, hop on. If it is at all far away, hit burstrun. Right now is when the sith shoot for amazing numbers, so you don't have a lot of time to run up to your bike, get on and accelerate.


7. Now you get to gleefully murder 5 Sith Thugs. You will need to be very careful at this stage. Work carefully, but quickly. TheThugs will spawn in groups of 3, with multiple groups appearing. You get the thugs alone using the exact same method you used in #2. MAKE SURE you get your target Thugfar away fromhis or herfriends. If you do not, it can lead to a really bad chain of events: You will be fighting one, while another is shooting, so you run up to that one to gethim into melee but now you are close enough to the others that they start shooting... ...clone center. In melee, Sith Thugs are pretty harmless. If you can do in a protector, you can easily take outa Thug. I am sure they apply stun, blind, dizzy, and KD, but i have high defenses, so i only got the occasional blind, and the rare dizzy.


*IMPORTANT* The sith are kind of like a tide, they come and go.When theSith completely disappear, quickly zoom in and take out another turret, or the front door. As soon as they start to show up, jet out of there.


8. Once you deep 6 your fifth Thug, thecommander will spawn. Wait untill theThugs disappear, then zoom in. Kill any remaining turrets, then move around to the back of the inner triangle. There is a door there you need to blow up as well. Go into the tent and you will find the Commander. Do the Radial to Capture, and he will pop two tablets and says he will be long dead before you get him back to the village. I am not sure if the hour starts now, or if it starts when you power down the shield. Personaly, I would keep the clock from the shield onward, and if you end up with extra time, good times for you .


9. Wait untill the Sith disappear again. While I was in the tent with the commander, the Thugs at the front gate did not agro me, so it was safe to wait there. Once they are gone, start running the Commander back to the village. Every 1000m you will get attacked by 2 Sith Pirates. They may be alone, or they might spawn as a pair. They shouldn't be much of a problem at all. Murder them, and you are on your way again. *Important* Get yourself some travel biscuits. They will give you enough terrain negotiation to get over the hills. Avoid agro spawns, you do not have time to screw around with some spiders or bolmas. You CANNOT screw around at this stage. A lot of people have mailed package-bombs to SOE after their Commander died whenthey were 500m from theVillage. Don't let this happen to you.


10. Keep trucking untill you get back to the village, and admire your teal crystal . You might want to make a /flex macro so you can parade around the village showing off your mighty might (just like the game Fable).


Notes:


1. Here are my stats so you can compare yourself against me to see if your template is better or worse (to give you an idea if you could solo it). I am a speed capped swordsman (ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL - If you are not, you should seriously consider finding a friend or two) with 108 Stun Def, 100 KD, 80 Blind, 95 Dizzy. I have medic 3000 and 475 power stim b's (only had to use them when running from the Thugs when they appeared the first time). I also have master brawler for more toughness, Intimidate and COB. I had all 9 stats buffed - 2950 on the first 6, then 2200/2100/1600. I used a 705 max power hammer. I have no terrain negotiation (+17 travel biscuits), and 30 ranged and melee defence. I have Feign Death, but did not end up needing it (it might be handy to use so you can hang out at the gate, waiting for the sith to disappear). I had on a 87% chest and Helmet, with everything else being 80% kinetic, 68-70 base. My tailor is Zri, and she made me some +16 med/+18 Warcry-Intimidate Pants, and a +16 med muscle shirt with +9 Intimidate, +7 Warcry.My skin color is Dark brown, my hair is blonde, and my toon is as short as possible (If your toon is tall, DO NOT try to solo this mission )

3. 2 Sith Thugs at a time: While i was doing the quest, I had to engage 2 thugs at a time (because one of them was shooting at me). Thankfully, the second one was far enough away that I could fight them both without bringing the whole possy down on me. you need to be very careful here. Ignore one, and he will start shooting you with his ranged weapon, and that is bad Karma. I started doing 4 headhit3s then a area3 mixed in every fifth attack. This kept them both in melee, and let me focus on one. Once the first was down, the second was no sweat.


Vncula's Tricks:



Trick1: escort the commander back with your level10 mount(killing thesithswith the hammer while riding your Cu-Pa [You will defenently get style points for doing it from the back of a bantha] is a worthy moment of your swg experience).

Trick2: when you fight 1 thug and you get attacked by other thug(s) go behind a tree. If there are more than 2 thugs melee on you use area attack.

Trick3: when youre approaching the village myst, slow down and keep an eye on the commander.


Good luck! Go prove to the devs that there is nothing that a determined Swordsman can't solo .

Are you talking about at the base when you are trying to get the discs, or after the shield goes down? Remember, your goal isn't to fight all the sith at once. If you are planning on doing that, make sure you have cloned and insured your gear. Use the pull technique and fight them in groups of 1-4 and it doesn't matter how many there are at the spawn point.

It makes a teal light saber. I guess it is so you can get your shoes and handbag to match your lightsaber.
