Thread: Two ?'s : TKM and Executionor's Hacks

Q1 - Does anyone have a viable CU template that doesn't involve TKM? Everywhere I read, TKA's seems to be a staple in all melee templates. Not a big fan of the TKA, but I'd rather grind the unarmed now than grind it after the CU when I'm still trying to figure out my armor.


Q2 - Anyone know what the Hack will be like after the balance? According to the devs at the Fan Fest (in the crafters meeting) the origional design of limited use schematics like the scythe and hack were to be the weapons of choice for the given proffession. They stated then that the hack would a, if not the elite 2 hand weapon post-cu (they were using 2 hand weapons as an example for the way stats would play out in crafted weapons post cu, comparing the hack and scythe to the ph). My not paying much attention, this may have already been covered elsewhere.

Q1: YA Definetly i am currently master Swords/Pike and dabble in TKA. i find it alot more efficent then being a TKM. there is only one move really that you need in tkm imo. and that is Improved COB. It helps out alot. I also just went and got a few more trees in it to A. increase my Max Speed with a Sword. and also increase my accuracy. i do not like fighting with no armor on just seems odd. even though armor is going to wear out fast now it seems if you PvP :/. but in PvE your armor will last alot longer it seems.

Swords/Fencer/Brawler master is a good base. You can mix some other skills in with it.

Right now im maxed speed, 155 i think, to get the highest possible DPS. That involves 1 line in TKA.

The hack looks like it will remain a secondary weapon. The hammer, scythe, and Sith sword will be the ones primarily used. Id like to see either the sith or scythe be moved to our master box to go along with the PH, then maybe the hack can move up slightly to fill the hole left.

yes exactly. i personally want the sith sword at master. it is the coolest weapons we get. and also after some testing i have found that the ph is still really the only weapon that is efficent to use at master. the other weapons seem to be just for show and to lvl. which doesn't help us at all. also atm i have 145 speed from Master Brawler/Pike/Swords and dabble in tka for a few skills/accuracy/slightly more speed. and when this goes live i will be using my +5speed gloves and my +5 ubese shirt briging me up to 155 speed. which means i will be ether dropping my FS tree or move it into FS melee accuracy or just drop FS completely and put the points into tka finese tree which gives me more accuracy. i will see which one is more of a viable choose as the CU progresses.

yeah personally i favor the sith sword being pushed to lvl 54. this will do 2 things, it will increase the weapons DPS a bit, and it will reserve the weapon to master swordsmen.

IF something like this happens the PH will probably still be higher DPS. However the other weapon should be close, so if you arent in a situation where a little DPS is the difference, you can use an actual SWORD! (or scythe thing)

i think the Ph will have the best DPS out of all the weapons. just for the fact that is the easiest one to make. because it A. has only one named resourse. B. that named resourse has a High SR which is needed for a Power Hammer. and C. I believe the Sith Sword will be alot harder to craft. but we will see. so i think that the theoretical max DPS of teh Sith Sword should be the same as the Power Hammer. But will never reach it because of the resourse limitations.

Thanks very much for the constructive responces.


I was out of the game for about 3 months... so the path the CU has taken caught me a little off-guard. I'm sucking up more and more info the more I troll.


Has anyone pondered a 2hand/Commando combo? Or would it be too in-accurate as you wouldn't have much in the way of ranged accuracy? It wouldn't be excessively point-intensive to add to master swords, but it also wouldn't really add much in the way of defenses either. *shrug* just thinking outloud / picking your brains.


I agree, I wisha 2 hand sword was a kickass item in our master box. Sillly hammer men running around. Should be an entire seperate class of blunt weapons if you ask me. Start out at walking-cane, move up to a cave-man style wood club, and reach the power hammer at it's peak.

With the Power Hammer (PH) being in there, you would think that the class would be Master Two-Handed Weapons, instead of Master Swordsman. I have always favored the "look" of the Katana, despite it being a basic Brawler weapon; is there a way to Beef it up? Hammers are good for Blast damage; the various Swords have always done Kinetic Damage. Are we going to get any other weapons that cover those critters that can only be affected by Electricity (like the special lances for the Polearm specialist) or Acid or Stun? If they are already out there, please give me an idea of what they are and how to find them? I regularly travel to the Death Watch Bunker with a group of friends, and I would like a weapon that gives me a snowball's chance versus the Battle Droids and SBDs. At present, all I have to offer is switching between Kinetic and Blast damageto do a small amount of damage at each attack. Thoughts, anyone?

Well sucks to be everyone that PvPs and doesn't have 9 adks for a suit of armor, from what I have heard from armorsmiths with all the new components and the armor being brand new and everyone will want it immediatly, there talking 2-3mill per suit! Unless your going BH or Commando you can't convert your armor and your going to have to wait a few days to get some new armor.


So much for the solo group nerf and other stategies to lower prices, its just going to get more and more expensive, good thing I have 16 adks so I only need to buy 1 good suit of armor... unless there nerfing adks now to...
