Ok last night I was running around spamming "friendly duels no db." I got tons of tells and fought tons of different templates. I know it sounds funny, but this character is only level 40 or something close to that. I was dueling level 20-80 characters and I must say I love swordsman. I was a tka almost master and cm before and so I wanted to try out swordsman and cm. My template isfor right now2 handed-2/0/44 and cm 0/3/0/0. I beat a couple of ranged guys, but of course some of them were really smart and just spammeda root attack.As I was about to log I got a tell from a friend TKM whatever elsethat is level 80. She had heard mespamming friendly duels and so she challenged me.She isa very good player and so Iknew I would have problems becausenot only is she good, but she is 40 levels higher than me lol. Anyways I had a2handedvibro axe with modified dps of like 250.So I accepted and I won. I wasnot wearingmy armor and so she was hitting me for about 330 damage per hit. I just kept her on fire, kd'd and used power hit. I know thishas no apparent useof anything good, but I don't understand people complaining about this proffession. It is great and I am probably gonna stick with it for my melee prof.Nonethelesseveryone have fun with this proffession,especially at master witha g5 powerhammer with a modified dps of more than 100 more than the axe I was using last night.

Well heres my feeling on the whole TKM problem, im a masterswordsman and a TKM with some pikeman my damage as a swordsman is good but not like it used to be, but it is still better than tk which was my first and funnest master. They took away all the power dealing damage a tk can do, because i also dueled a friend who was a level 37 marksman at the time and he straight up destroyed me using ranged weapons! any weapons i have found so farfor tk does less damage than if going at it free handed, and they say tks have a good defense well, its kinda true cause im sitting at 305 melee def and 265 ranged def but wow do i get hit alot. So now i just use the tk defenses to bolster my swordsman and pikeman attacks. i have never liked swordsmanas much as i do now since tk took a long walk off a short pier. lol

no offense and i'm glad you had a fantastic time (i love dueling too!) but it sounds to me like that TKM screwed up somewheres.

though, i'm not arguing that Swordsman isn't a fantastic damage dealing profession!

TKM damage ISN'T that great, it uses a lot of action and as a TKM/mFencer/mSwordsman, i always use a powerhammer for offense...

but i don't think you should have won if she really knew what she was doing...

she should have had at minimum 3500 health (powerboost), and cob running at all times. at level40, you probably max out at around 2500-2800 health? you weren't wearing armor, she would have been at 10000 armor (cob + innate). she has far more defense than you, and you were using a low-level 2hand sword (not a master level PH/master DPS)...her dps SHOULD have been better.

you would have some nicer attacks than her, but she has a lot of defense in her favor..

i dunno. on paper, everything suggests that she should have spanked you! at master, straight TKM vs straight Swordsman...whew, tough call. i'd put my money on the swordsman though, until you start stacking multiple melee professiones. then it's anyone's game.

i'll tell you this- as a TKM/mSwordsman/mFencer, i have yet to lose a duel against a mundane. swordsman power is hellasweet, and TKM defenses are awesome. a carbine/pistoleer/BH is the only toon to come close to beating me...but i wasn't doc buffed or on any food other than 1 brandy and i can only heal once a minute. hehe everyone else who's got innate armor and CoB knows what i'm talkin' about !
