Scythes, for being so rare, have been nerfed in my opinion. Their DPS is nowhere close to a good ol' hamma. Check the bazaar for cheap DPS

I use a 299 base DPS 1207 damage PH that when equipped hits around 513 Mod DPS.
Ive received as a quest reward a sword that had 316 base DPS but when I equipped it the Mod DPS was only in the 480s. The reason for this is the damage was lower but the speed significantly higher on the new sword.
When you take into effect speed skill tapes or Master Brawler, its better to go for damage and not DPS. The bonus received at the end is much higher with a 3.0 speed 1200+ PH than a 2.5 speed 1000+ sword with a higher DPS. It ends up capping your speed which is not a good thing on a low damage weapon.

It is not only the DPS yea - its the speed of the weapon - the better your speed the more Base and mod DPS - in future i hope that smugglers speedslice my weapons
