Thread: Whats with the INSANE prices?

Just respecced from TKM/MPike/4000 Doc to TKM/MS/4000 Doc. I bought my 280DPS pike for about, 35K. A 280DPS hammer or sword sells for about 3+ mil. What is up with that?

Because there were a lot fewer pre-CU hammers that converted with >280 DPS than pikes.

I sold a whack load of hammers on ther bazzar for 20k, each had a dps of 250-275 - Pre CU hammers. check bazzars and vendors youll have some luck eventually

just go to bizzar and search under two handed weapons, for the entire galaxy and with the specific search type in hammer. this should nerow things out. also, try doing this under a vendor search.

I refuse to sell a 1100 max dmg or higher power hammer that has akalay bones for less then 1 million

The short answer:
Any crafted item has a minimum price that reflects what the weaponsmith paid to create it. Anything above that is due to demand.
If I had to guess at the reason for the price difference, I'd probably start with the relative numbers of pikemen vs. swordsmen. Lower demand for pikes would mean lower prices. It might also be harder for 2-handed weapons to hit that DPS (I think most of a swordsman's damage comes from special multipliers). Ackley bones, differences in required resources, weaponsmith using old resourceswith ultra-high stats, etc can all increase the base price of an item.
If the swords you were looking at were reward items, that'd mean lower supply, since there can only be one in the world for each character who completed the quest. That raises the price too.
Or maybe you got a really good deal on the Pike, and hosed on the sword. /shrug.

280DPS hammers are about 35-50k on Chilastra atm. Some of the high dps swords (non-master required) are very expensive though.
As a side note, why did you go with 4xxx Doc instead of xxx4 Doc? Personally I find the additional buffs (esp improved adrenal boost) are worth the loss of ~100 hp in healing per bacta and the loss of infusion.

Seriously, take a good half hour and scan every single hammer for sale on the bazaar's Vendor Search. You'll go through 1000+ listings but that's how I found my 1150 max. damage hammer with 104 SAC for 35K.
