Thread: Swordsman: FS Grind template?
Well actually i have this bad habit of either clicking the wrong buttons on my toolbar or forgetting to heal myself.
Cheers for your comments.
I have found that the Sith are no trouble at all. At CL 75 with Master Brawler,TKM, and 4 -3-4-4 Pike, Novice Sword and 4-0-4-0 Medic I could take three with no trouble (I was doing my b est to avoid healing since I planned to drop Medic entirely and regain two full lines in Sword.
My alt is MS/TKM and two boxes in Doc, and has no trouble taking down Multiple lvl 80's either.
With TK iniate Armor, and, CoB running the damage they do is slight (more so if they are stunned And/Or intimiadated). With the armor break line and a good weapon, and Improved Head Hit, Damagecan bevery good. I tried Doing a Master Doc/Master Sword Combo and a MS/MCM but, found that a TKM/MS (or MP) with SOME healing skills was, by far -- for me, the better mix. Healing is wonderful, but, if your opponent is hitting for 100, or a good deal less, then the amount of healing needed is greatly lessened, and, with increased Damage, you finish them off much more quickly, once again lowering the need for Huge Heals.
I also use the best Stim D's I can find -- at least 1100+, and ... Food/Drink buffs. With my Food I have gone with the long term ones, such as Blob Candy and Caf, for Generic, all purpose grinding, and, using Breath of Heaven, and such, for Situational needs.
Though Ranged is said to be the King, I respeced my Main from BH/Pistoler to Sword/TK, and built a NEW all melee char. I was Carbineer/BH from the outset, at a time when Melee was supposed to Rock, and found that with some good strategies I could take just about anything in the Galaxy (and did well in PvP to boot), Now, when Ranged is said to Rock I am finding that I can do Very well with Melee (though my PvP experience upon returning has been practicly nil).
It's a different game but... very fun getting to learn it.

It is real easy dont th survival quest as a swordsman.
All i did was get a ranged guy to help me and sit back while he took out all the sith that would have killed me if I tried.
Is it really that easy?

i think in that quest melee > ranged
I have MBrawler, MPike, MSwords with some TK thrown in. I have no problems.
I manage to earn 2 handed XP, polearm XP and get in as much combat XP as I can. The grind is still slow but I'm not a power gamer by no means.
This triple master allows me to tank very well but also allows me to destroy almost everything - quickly. The drawback is that I have to waste time trying to heal my wounds if no medic/doc/Jedi is around. Of course, action is always a problem with Swords but the right food/drink can help a great deal.
Phase 4 of the Village (constant Sith assault) proved that my template was very effective at staying alive. I found myself being the lone survivor in whatever group I was in most of the time.
I had medic/doc skills and respeced to pure combat. I still have the ability to stim every minute, or every 30 seconds with the right food. So I don't miss medic/doc at all.
