Thread: Master Brawler or Master Doctor??
Master Brawler !
-Not for the little pts in 2h accuracy etc.. (they help though) but lunge2 may knock down, you get warcry 2,intimidation 2; bersek 2 is not hotkeyed,it lasts too much and no special is allowed and +75 dmg at high lvl has no sense.
If you try the brawler way, go to the newbie zone of Mos Espa : lots of critters but buy good weapons first, a 50 ratio [(minimum+maximum+range modifiersx2)/delay ] is a minimum, I noticed that if you don't kill the mob at first hit it becomes painful, the 1h sword is especially a punition.
I try to find the best combo for soloing the highest mob soloables, could be :
-Master Brawler+2h master
-Master CH (2 lines scout so a total of 246 pts)
or
-Taming IV+empathy III (/emboldenpet)
-base medic (Stimpacks use)
As the CHs will be limited to a 60 lvl pets (maximum sum of all his pets) they will have a 50 Rancor for instance so only one pet, with taming 4 you will be allowed to have a lvl 45 pet , in fact you must take in account the Armor Rating, resists, specials etc..
But with the extensions incoming, more creatures will come and as everybody like BH can be a taming 4 CH they will certainly give more to real CHs !
Well I come back to your subject, lol : yes brawler is better and will make you win more often.
Don't forget exploration as it gives you bonuses in terrain negociation and burstrun..

I had the same choice myself - master tka + master medic + master brawler OR mtka + mm + master doctor.
I have chosen master brawler for now, and am actually finished with my levelling up.
To me, the best two reasons for master brawler are intimidate2 - make the mob do half damage for about 2 minutes, and unarmedlunge2 - perfect for those freaking mobs like dralls and swoopers who like to kite you, shooting the crap out of you all the while. Then again, unarmedlunge1 drops them too, so maybe I just hang onto it for intimidate.
Berserk2 lasts too long for me, but the thing most folks forget is +20 berserk that master brawler gives you makes berserk1 go off almost everytime as well. It has it's uses, but i expect it to be nerfed to hell soon anyway.
Master doctor seems nice, i'd really like th buffs - but I have read too many posts about them wearing off if you cross any zone lines, and equally irritating things. Since you can't buff mind - I find th ebuffs almost pointless as I'll still end up head shotted by some ranged user or 2h swordsman in pvp.
Maybe i'll drop master brawler someday and pick up master doc instead, but I can't imagine how bad the last boxes of tera kasi master would have been had i not been able to reliably land intimidate on the stuff i was forced to fight to get any experience at all at that level. Especially helpful if you're a non-knockdown class like swordsman, I would think!

What do you mean by crossing zone lines? Is that like for when you use shuttleports and stuff, or just when you walk a far distance?
And what other kinds of irritating things?
The reason I'm considering Doc is because wouldn't this be theultimate swordsman? :
Use Stat Migration to max Mind / Focus / Willpower, and some of the other stats. Then just use enhance to pump up whatever is really low.
Wouldn't that be awesome!
Nevermind... I think I found a better solution without having to waste all those skill points:
Do the same setup, but instead of enhance, just heal w/ stims.
Whaddaya think of that?
I plan on Master Swordsman, Master Doctor, Novice Scout + Explore I. Being able to buff your secondary stats will be a god-send for using our high ham cost specials. Throw in heals on top of that when needed, plus the ability to cure those annoying poisons. Sounds all good to me.
Combating ranged will still suck, but hopefully with the 75% pvp reduction that'll buy me enough time to break LOS and heal back up.

Why take the range modifiers into account? I'm sorry to say but unless the range modifiers are serious penalties (like the Power Hammer) they just don't have much impact at all. You're better off just looking at DPS. Unfortunately, you're totally ignoring important stuff like the weapon's AR which vastly affects your damage output.
If you had a choice, which would you pick:
Master Brawler / Master Medic or Master 2h sword / Master Doctor?
(and Master Swordsman, of course)
Range modifiers are of little effect, I admit, it is just a fact that a 7/7/7 raise the dmg fork soit it is a +14;on a 60-200 it is unnoticeable, I put it in account just to be sure that a -49/-49/-49 will be noticed as you mentioned. When you try to build an equation you take everything in it just for being mathematicaly sane.
A lot of things must be considered, I didn't want to write a manual.
What do you mean by weapon's AR, for me AR is Armor Rating, I miss something, is it Attack Ratio ?
There is something uncomplete in ratio and DPS, you may have the best but with a very high delay you are dead at first miss.
