Does anyone use a sword and pistol combo? I am presently using sword and rifle but am tired of the really slow speed of the rifle. Just curious.

Actually, fencer targets health. TKA can target any pool I believe.

I think you might want to go TKA with pistol, as they both target same pool (Health)

TKA is mostly usually get attacks that are special status like dizzy, blind, knockdown, etc. Eventually they get attacks that hit all the HAM pools at the same time.

I'm currently doing Swordsman and Pistoleer professions with a bit of CH on the side (who isn't?). Right now I have fairly fast weapons with a 2H Curved Sword at 2.3 and Scout Blaster at 1.7. Both have their uses but you will pretty much be using one weapon during one battle. The sword will always out damage your gun, whatever it is you're doing. But your gun will keep you safe with the specials like melee defense and, of course, you won't be doing much damage.

The ideal time to use your sword is when grouped with either a medic or another brawler, perhaps another swordsman. The time to use the pistol is when going solo, perhaps with a pet or two (be it CH-tamed or otherwise). As you get higher up, you won't really need a pet so much, but it does help a bit.

A lot of people seems to be confusing the Swordsman with the Fencer profession.

I dont know if this has anythin to do with the topic just felt like sayin somethin lol. I usaully team up with a TKA in PvP and have a pistoler. The TKA runs up while the pistoller shoots thw oppenent. The TKA knocks him down and then i do a hit. This is very effective. Since he is gettin knocked down then hit by my strong sword attacks.

my neighbor went pistoleer/fencer. Now he just uses pistols, he says if he wants to melee, he just chains pistolwhip together about a dozen times... its kinda sad.

I'm a Swordsman/Pistoleer and I'm quite happy with it. Works fine for me.
