Thread: i use to think the idea of us getting a stun weapon would be overpowered........

but since the devs hand out blast weapons to Riflemen.......screw it.

there is not balance in this game or specialization.



so gabe - when do we get a stun weapon?

i'd like an acid one too.

i would rather focus on getting blast damage taken away from rifleman. they do not deserve it.it makes us completely useless in the GCW. i used to get a real sense of purpose when i was called upon to take out turrets in large battles. now they dont need silly swordsman, 75% of my server's population are rifleman

the devs are jackpipes.



instead of a reblance they further tip the scales into unbalance.


its a joke.



and yah - i'd like to take the blast away from them but it won't happen.


so give us a stun, cold, and acid weapon.


all bets are off - if riflemen can have defense/accuracy/spd/and dmg then we should too. (and defense)


i was once told here that the downside of having high dmg is low accuracy and spd.


this is a lie.


riflemen have it all so why shouldn't we? we spend the same amount of points.

It has been acknowledged b the devs that melees are lacking in damage types.

Apart from that I don't know what will happen. I don't think I'll make a lot of friends going in and saying, "nerf rifleman!" FWIW, their new weapon doesn't look that great stat-wise.

What I would -love- to see are some melee specials that confer a special damage type on the attack that supercedes the damage type on the initial weapon. For example, what if hit2 automatically made your attack stun? I'm not sure that is feasible or realistic at present though. Also, I think that partially it would be good to see a little bit less variance in damage types. If stun were not vastly better in PvP maybe this wouldn't be such a big issue.

Anyway, you're being heard loud and clear on the damage type issues although I've gotta look for constructive ways to put this forward.

This is a good point. If they're gonna give rifleman a blast damage weapon there's no reason not to give swordsman a stun damage weapon.

even if the stats suck it takes away our shine.


a vulnerability on a turret, or atst or mob is still a vulnerability - packed behind strafe 2 and its still gonna be a serious dmg.


add in a dmg slice and yah......no point being a swordsman.


i agree this isn't the way to get the holy devs to listen but im kinda letting off steam on this one.


if riflemen weren't already uber i proably wouldn't care as much.

Stats aren't good on rifle..but in hands of a Master stats will be made good.


We won't be needed to kill AT-STs or Turrets.

You know I'm getting conflicting reports on what exact stats and damage this has. I wouldn't be sure of anything until it gets made on live.

this is all well and good, but who considers themselves a serious pvp and doesn't have at least a stun helmet if not a full suit.

The most stun suits I see are around 40%, and those cost millions. Yet many have armor with high kinetic resists or blast resists.



Sir-john, Masseuse, Rebel Scum, Master Hugger/Cuddler
10,000 for regular buff job, 100,000 for total, extreme, complete Massage
Gettin' Jiggy with it since '03

Having a Master Riflemanchar already (with maxxed speed, that's strafe2 in 1 sec with an 8 second rifle) and also working on a new Swordsman char, I can see this from both perspectives and giving rifleman a blast weapon is just crap. My rifleman char owns all opposition already on the battlefield.. just about the only thing I had to have help with was when an ATST aggroed on me and I couldn't concealshot it to death. Turrets were also a pain... now I will have no fear... but that's not at all what I, or any sensible player, would want. /sigh

No one has confirmed this gun is Blast damage. Please show me where this has been listed. Everything I read is that this gun is HEAT damage.

it hink the point is the class that LEAST needs any additions or benefits is getting another one.
