Thread: Is there a Cap on Counter Attack abilities and if so what is it?

There is a +9 Counter Attack Tape I wanna buy for 650k and I'm wondering if it is worth the time.

I'm a Master Swordsman so I have +100 counter attack as it is.

I've got a +17 Intimidate/+17 Warcry/+3 Melee Defence undershirt with one more slot available and would LOVE to put that tape in there if I could use it (of course a speed tape would be MUCH better but I might as well ask for a porche to drive me to my new 2 mil a year job).

Anyone know anything about this?

the cap is +125 from skills and you can add another +25 from attachments onto that.

I thought total cap on dodge/counterattack/block/melee def/ranged def was +125, with a max of 20% of that (+25) coming from skill-tapes....unless I'm remembering incorrectly

no. its 125 from skills and another 25 from attachments for a total possible of 150.

Seems like I maybe the the black sheep here, but it was my understanding that Counterattack\dodge\block no longer stack between different professions. So this would mean that only skill tapes can futher your ability over someone elses.

Melee and Ranged defense are maxed at 125. I dont think Def VS xxx is capped but it does stack.

Glad to say that u are wrong...by now u can stack dodge from fencer and pistoleer, counterattack from swords and carbine and block from rifle and pike...for the def. vs. stats there must be a cap....cause the devs stated that there is allways a 10% to land astat...if thats correct the cap must be +90...

The +90 doesn't mean a 90% chance to protect though does it? I didn't think it was 1-for-1..

How do you search the forums by key phrase?

If you can stack CA\dodge\block the cap would be 125 (without tapes) along with melee and ranged def. Stacking of these secondary defenses was one of the main reasons behind defense capping. People would stack one of the secondary defenses then use center of being and become untouchable, literally.

As far as the Def vs states, thats only true if its based of a 100 point percentage ratio. If it was a 200 point percentage ratio, 190 would be cap.

I'm curious what you mean in "by now u can stack...", if anything stacking has always been there, they just limited it.

Yeah, u are right the cap is about +125 for Dodge/CA/Block(without Tapes/Food)....F.E. to reach the cap for dodge u have to pick M-Fencer and 1xxx in Pistoleer....


AFAIK this will be changed thru Combat-Balance...If im right after the rewamp stacking over professions will no more work...but yes, thats rumors and not facts cuz the rewamp is far away...maybe the st gab has some more infos about it....
