Thread: New to swordsman, give me candy! (hints, tips, guides, ect. :)

Spent past 3 days and I mastered swordsman, ok, what next? Im close to master Brawler, so thats master swords/master brawler.
Have a couple questions.
1. What is the best weapon for PvP? Hack, Sycthe, PH?
2. What is the best weapon for PvE?
3. Were can i get good attachments?
4. Should i spend time looking for attachments, or doing janta missions and just buy um?
Any thing else i need to know, im sure theres a million other posts like this, but its 1100, im bored, and ive got nothing to do. 
. Ive got a template figured out, Swordsman master, master brawler, tka/fencer and maybe medic. That works?

1. PvP: Toss up between PH if you're speedcapped and Scythe regardless. The awful accuracy of the PH oftentimes makes it not worth it to use, but if you've got a REALLY good one and you're speedcapped, use it. Otherwise, stick with a Scythe, especially against Jedi.
2. PvE: Same story as above, but accuracy isn't as much of an issue. This varies on a case by case basis. If you're attacking enhanced kwis, pull a BH. They're weak to stun. Acklay has lower Kinetic, so unless you have an awesome PH, pull the scythe. Elders have 100% kinetic - pull the PH. Just make sure you examine stuff before attacking it and you'll be alright. In cases where the protection is nearly equal, use a PH if you're speedcapped, and if not then stick with the Scythe.
3. Attachments: Lord Nyax (spawns every 3:40 at a POI on Corellia), Nightsister Elders, Borgle Batcaves (10 hour spawn timer on the loot bin at the bottom), Aakuan Champions (in the cave and from missions on Talus)
4. Both, really. If an attachment goes up on your trade forums, there's a very good chance someone else is going to snipe it. 2h speed is one of the most desired SEAs, so you're going to be in fierce competition. If you want to make sure you can get the seas, dedicate about half of you time to each one. If you have a LOT of devotion, you can feasibly just run jantas and get enough money to outbid anyone, but it's really hard to not go absolutely insane after farming more than 5 or 6 million credits off them.

yes, speed capping yourself is definetly worth doing, if you can afford it.

i was a swordsman sometime around the end of the year lastyear (was a holo prof ) but now im comming back to it cause ive missed swordsman (kept my warrior title since i droped it). last time i grinded it, it took me like 3wks if not a month lol. just wondering....how did you go about it in just 3 days? i was already capped on my combat xp from being TKM, i also was capped on swordsmen xp from my last go around so i basically got the first 2 boxes in brawler for free (but damn it hurt to lose that 900k). so now im 0003 swordsmen. Just want to know what it is that you kill that makes it go faster.

Im sure alot of it depends on how much of your life you spend grinding. Should be able to do it in 3 days fairly easy on huurton huntress/stalker lairs, maybe 1-2 buff sessions each day.

Going into the grind with capped combat xp, I could do it in 3 buff sessions running bolle missions. Bolles are extremely overlooked, but if you're in a soloing group, you'll be getting 50-60k per lair, and simply spin attacking with a speed sliced scythe (the reason for the combat xp necessity) will take that lair and all its inhabitants out in no time at all. Speed sliced scythes are nearly worthless to any master with pretty much any extra speed, so it's worthwhile to use them for grinding.

I am about done with it and have been getting in a Solo Group on Dantooine and running Quenker Missions using Spin Attack 1/2 (depending which you have).
They are quick and I was getting 3118 per Quenker with about 13-15 per lair based on how many babies were involved. So for every two missions I was pulling in about 80-90K XP and I could do those in about 10 mins maybe.

Well, i had tons of Combat xp from pistols, enough for xxx3. so i get my PH and started whackin everything on dantooine that gives more then 3k xp. on the 2nd day i bought4 sycthes and that sped it up.

PvP -> Scythe or 2h Axe
Scythe has good stats but can only be used effectively when buffed. I use the 2h Axe when unbuffed or against a stacker. Axe stats are around 170-290 (?) sliced. +15 range mods. 40/40/20 HAM or there abouts.
PvE -> The Power Hammer is great all round. But for targets with high Blast resists, Scythe or 2h Axe work fine.
Attachments -> I picked up a +10 CA off an NS. NS will drop attachments upto +25. Aaukuns(sp?) drop fairly well from what I've heard, upto +10 attachments.
Most places charge way too much for a simple +1 or +2 attachment. I'd rely on looting them unless you find a deal. I've paid 50k for a +2 2h Speed attachment. But most places on Scylla charge much more.

In the process of mastering Fencer (for fun) than TKM. Final template will be TKM and 3440 Fencer.
I'm a beast, but no Ranged Mitigation (which is supposedly going bye-bye) and a nuna can out run me. For a good temp for HIGH END PvE, drop some boxes for 0040 medic and find some Med Use 40 StimEs. With 1 or 2 pices of bio'ed healing clothing you can get 2k heals easily.
